It is a 1931 Model A but the bed is from a 1925 T

Could be the tires, could be the old car. People still love them.

Re: New radiator from Brass Works

Show me a Model T or Model A where something fits right. I think, just like people, they sag with age. NOS doesn’t fit half the time either. You need to have some skills and adapt. Usually the radiator doesn’t fit because the frame is spread or twisted or anything and everything 100 years brings.

How much more work is it? What do you have to do to put oil slingers on? You need to remove all the magnets. Model T snowmobile?

Re: If you need a radiator do not wait

I just looked all through the website and I see modest price increases. The highest prices are on those V’ed speedster radiators which look expensive. Any thing out of the ordinary costs more. I have six of their radiators on T’s and A’s and they are all excellent and half are over ten years old wit...

Nice job Dan, you are going to end up with a 2023 T touring.

Re: Manifold to carb heater

I live in Wisconsin, the only time I ever had a Carburetor frost was in July. It was hot and humid. I have 5 Model T’s and I have the manifold tubes on them all. They run ok in the winter also.

Re: 2003 modelT

I believe those cars are at Greenfield Village driving people around. The Model T shop at Greenfield Village could tell you more. I heard somewhere they wanted to build more but the costs were too high.

Cylinders still show a little of the cross pattern from reboring. Are your valve stems still standard?

Re: Just adopted a T - It was supposed to be a quiet project

It really doesn’t look like damage to me. How deep is it? What size are the pistons in the engine now? 010, 020? Have you taken the pan cover off and looked for debris? Did you find pieces of the valve? I think if it was damage the wall would be gouged and the piston damaged.

Looks like front brakes on that coupe with 1925 plates, like a Rocky Mtn setup.

Re: Snowmobile ski question

I would guess that you use the same tow in setting you use for tires. Do your skis have skegs on the bottom? I would think six inches might be excessive and you need to set your toe in for tires.

Re: Snowmobile ski question

Can you adjust your tie rods to straighten it out? Maybe just the tow in on the wheels?

Re: Just adopted a T - It was supposed to be a quiet project

If your wiring is old and brittle I would replace it all. There really aren’t that many wires. I use a frame mounted cut off switch. Mine is on the positive side of the battery in the middle of the 1 gauge wire between the positive terminal and the starter button. It would not hurt to fuse the light...

Re: Just adopted a T - It was supposed to be a quiet project

That doesn’t look terrible, especially with the lights on. Why was it pegged before? If you keep running it does it come down more? I would look at replacing the wiring if it is old. Do you have an electrical shutoff on your battery? I would recommend one.

Re: Just adopted a T - It was supposed to be a quiet project

Ideally your amp meter should be reading about 5 to 8 amps, 20 amps is a peak. Is your wiring old. That was not a good reading.

Re: Just adopted a T - It was supposed to be a quiet project

What does the instruction sheet say about amperage? Most of them like the generator output around 5 amps so the cutout doesn’t burn out and the battery doesn’t get cooked.
