Sprayed the wheels on our 26 with single stage enamel with hardner. Had the local paint store mix up a quart using the original straw paint code.

I have also used the soaking method on extremely tarnished brass with good results. My chemical of choice is white vinegar. It does give brass a copper look until final polish and I may have read somewhere that repeated use might not be good. Only needed to do it once now just keep them shined up. W...

No, it is pretty stock. Does have a Prestolite tank on the ds running board in place of the carbide generator. Engine number 590057 matches title.

Good shape mechanically with no major issues. Starts, runs, drives, and stops good. Does get warm in hot weather on long runs

Looking for an estimated value of my 14 Runabout. Car was restored in the 60's. Starts and runs on mag. Paint is old and has imperfections but no rust. Looks better in picture than in person. Thanks in advance for your input.

Rebuilt the front end on the 14 Runabout. Also cleaned up and resealed the hogshead. While I was at it, I recharged the magnets in the car. Starts and runs perfectly on mag now for the first time since I've owned it! One happy T owner!

Thanks guys! I was able to get it off by welding a couple beads and using a chisel. It is toast but wasn't the best to begin with. Thought I'd keep as a spare but in the scrap it goes!

Hi, Thanks for the reply! No, I have not tried oiling. I'm afraid if the hinge moves more freely it may make things worse. Could be bad springs, does the hinge need to be taken apart to check the spring?

Hi Allan,

I agree, the paint is in very good condition for it's age. My plan is to do a good cleaning and a light polish by hand. There are also a few areas that need attention around the cowl under the hood. These are the areas I will likely need to touch up.

Thanks for the information! Do you happen to know the original glass thickness? Mine seem very thin. Also, was there a gasket between the glass and rim? It seems like this are is prone to breakage with direct contact between the glass and the brass.

I will definitely check out the carbide generator. There is a Prestolite tank mounted on the running board. Not sure if you can still get them filled?
