I think those rivets are expanded it there so tight that it wont matter if the ends of them are sheared off. Look how difficult it is to remove the pedal shaft rivets...

Proper Rear end specs??

I'm currently rebuilding my rear end and using Chaffins manual. I'm wondering why there wasn't a shim selection chart ever made so you would know what size shim to install under the ring gear. Meaning, if you had .030 backlash between ring and pinion, what size shim would you need to get .012

FP Voltage Regulator

Well I recieved the elusive FP voltage regulator today that was said to be "not produced" due to an obsolete part to manufacture them. I'm just glad I was able to score one!

Excellent Scott, I commend you for taking on the sheet metal work yourself. Everyone should....if you dont try it you will never know if you can pull it off. Alot of the work you did on the bottom of your car looks exactly like what I had to do on my car and the same way I did it. And didnt it feel ...

Amen Brent. The woman in the rocking chair looks like she is on her cell phone. We see the same thing with these phones day in and day out that the first thing we think of when we see a woman with her hand near her head or just holding something we think its a cell phone :(

Soak in water for about 4 hours clamp them while they're still wet, let them dry in clamped position, remove and use weathestrip adhesive to apply them to the hood

Re: Shop tip

When looking for a short in your car, disconnect the ground cable from the battery and hook up a test light from the cable end to the ground terminal of the battery then pull fuses from the fuse box one at a time till the test light goes out. You will now know what circuit the short is on.

Re: Shop tip

This is an amazing trick I learned, when siliconing say a bathtub or anything you want a straight clean line, run a strip of masking or painters tape along the edges on both sides before you lay the bead, smooth it with a wet finger and peal off the tape while the silicone is still wet, you will hav...

I believe the extra money Classtique charges is for the pre made kick panels and door panels ready to install. I don't think the other upholstery suppliers come with those

Re: 15% ethanol and T’s

OK since everyone is chiming in, here is my input, I am not a fan of draining carburators for the fact that if it sits for long periods of time the seals dry out and you are in the same boat of removing it and rebuilding it, I have seen it first hand. I have had lawnmowers, chainsaws, logsplitters a...
