YES, Norman! my 1915 hates a crowd. The more people waiting to watch me hand crank, the more free starts it will do. My car runs very well and will start at home, by myself,on the second or third crank but most of the time with an audience, it will make me crank until I work up a good sweat. bobt

Re: Replacement of the windshield on my 1915 touring
Hello. Well, I got my new safety laminated glass windshield replaced in my 1915 touring. I removed the top frame and left the bottom frame on the car. I was amazed how easy the old plate glass came out. I was also amazed on how the old windshield was cut to fit. The corners and angled cut were kinda...

Re: Replacement of the windshield on my 1915 touring
My plate glass on my 1915 touring is NOT mounted in brass but rubber. The glass is in great shape but I would like to replace it for safety reasons and I drive a lot. I would prefer to do the work myself as the bottom w/s is stationary on the body. Question. What holds the glass channel retainers th...

Replacement of the windshield on my 1915 touring
Hello. I would like to replace the original plate glass windshields with safety glass on my 1915 touring. I see where I can buy the set from Eklers (Mac's) for under $200 + shipping or should I just go to my local glass shop? I'm pretty handy and I have put curved windshields in before. I know the n...

I know this sounds silly but plain old rubbing alcohol works great as a lubricant on rubber. This is what Harley Davidson recommends when installing rubber foot boards. bobt

I'm running a left side hogshead oiler from Langs. It came with CLEAR rubber tubing and instructions. When I ran the tubing two years ago, I made sure it was not chafing. So far, so good. bobt

Re: 1926 engine missing ??
OK. I found the problem !!! believe it or not, it was the gear on the alternator sheared a roll pin. The alternator,(yes alternator, 12 volt) was spinning but not fast enough. I don't drive at night so I don't use my headlights. I did notice that my ahoo-ga horn was sounding weak and my amp gauge is...

Yes. Alternator not charging 1926 T with the VW distributor and the GEAR DRIVEN 12 volt negative ground alternator (one wire) . I have pulled the alternator off and its on the work bench. It is a Delco Remy and has a paper tag that says "Buckeye Auto Electric" The gear on the shaft looks like its he...

Re: Gas tank restoration kit
I did my rusty '26 with POR 15 and I'm very happy with the results. Remove tank (quite a job on a '26 roadster) fill with about two gallons of water, Dawn blue dish washing soap and about a pound of drywall screws. (count them first so you can recover all of them) and SHAKE,SHAKE and SHAKE some more...

Re: Ok, so how much breaking do I really need?
I own two T's. A 1915 with Rocky Mountains and a 1926 with sure-stop disc's The sure-stops are superior over the RM's but I used the RM's on the 1915 because they look period for a 107 year old car. I call BOTH set ups P&P brakes (push and pray) I drive both my T's like they have NO BRAKES and try t...

Scot. I am running a Holly NH. I own two model Ts. A 1926 and a 1915. Both have Holly NH carbs and both have ran fine with one complete turn of the mixture needle. Both cars ran for years with the usual T maintenance. Yes, I've tried all of the above tips with negative results and tried the usual th...

Re: 1926 engine missing ??
Tried all of the above. Still running bad. Seems to run fine under load. Yes, I checked for a vacuum leak. I pulled the intake after checking for bad gaskets. They looked fine but replaced them anyway. No cracks in the manifold. I tried fresh gasoline yesterday with no change. Going to take a few da...

Re: 1926 engine missing ??
All good tips and I will try EACH and EVERY one. My whole distributor turns with the spark lever and does not use an external resistor. The 12 volt coil has the resistor.
