The TT rear is worm drive. The TT Ruckstell uses the standard worm drive as well, with the underdrive gears in the larger diff housing. Thanks for feedback so far. An updated DRAFT of Rev2.2 is added (see first post) - can you help me with the yellow squares?

Many thanks

That is so true. I have taken to carrying loads on old car runs just because it improves the ride ;-)

Re: Bolt Chart Update July 2023 - Can You Help Me?

Are you referring to a car/roadster body or a TT truck cab? If a TT cab. I can't find any specific factory numbers for those bolts, however, the factory drawings indicate that they are 1/2" bolts. No length is given, so you would need to have them to suit your particular body build. They would be ca...

Re: Bolt Chart Update July 2023 - Can You Help Me?

A quick note about the 'Colorado' chart which was started back in the 2010's. Errors and completeness: This was reformatted into the current Bolt Chart format - so all the original data in that chart went exactly into the new format. Errors have been fixed (though not all) and missing data has been ...

Hi guys, Yes. I put together the 'bolt chart' during that viral lock down using various sources and an original version done earlier. Steve, don't beat yourself up! the repair looks great, and certainly better than many of us could do.

That is pretty neat Jocab. Here in New Zealand all TTs were local built bodies, so it is hard to find any two the same, although 'similar' ones are around.

Hi Jacob, thanks for asking - there is no such thing as too many questions :-) You are referring to part number P-1010 the 'sliding clutch gear' It slides in through part P-1009, the 'gear clutch plate'. This is toothed, and the sliding clutch gear must be rotated for the teeth to engage in these te...

'Manufacturers Certificate of Origin '. Not, I notice, a 'certificate of title or ownership' just 'origin'. The MCO story is interesting. Under the logic presented, no one in the States who does not have an 'MCO' can ever sell the vehicle in their possession as they do not own it ...? Re: Go ahead and laugh, see what I have to work with

So the car was built in 1971. That means it has been like that for 52 years. That makes it 'older' than many of the used parts were when the car was built. That means it has 'existed' longer than the original cars that donated to its construction. That makes it a genuine 'correct classic' in its own...

Probably the best idea is to get a copy of the MTFCA booklet on ruckstell axles. https://mtfca.square.site/product/service-manuals/245?cp=true&sa=false&sbp=false&q=false&category_id=3 s414956083821823101_p245_i5_w1851.jpg This has a section on TT rears as well. Hi Jacob, At the front, where the U joint fits in, there are bolts screwed into the casting. Undo these - one at the top, and the other is 180 degrees below it. Use a drift (long punch), line up the pin through the top hole and knock the pin out through the bottom hole . You can now pull the U joint...

Re: Using just the buzz/points of a model T coil?

Like Scott says, prepare for a 'hot' coil - its likely to melt out tar, start smoking and perhaps catch alight.

How do I know - well it was not an intentional shorting mistake that caused the coil to buzz for so long (around 1 minute or a bit less).
