That's a fantastic find right there. Was it built using a Ford block, or is the HIMICO block completely separate?
It looks like a great engine--

Re: Mobile phone for the T......
I don't think a rotary dial phone's dialing function would be affected by Model T RF. Whatever you used to link the roatary dial to modern lines or Bluetooth, etc, might be. It might get into the audio, but shielded cable ought to prevent that. The link is just standard 4-conductor copper wire phon...

Re: Mobile phone for the T......
OK, I've been lurking here forever and still don't have a Model T yet (whoever heard of a liberal-arts student with money or a covered parking space) but I do have a lot of weird old-time technology from the 1800s and 1900s, so here y'all go-- If I was going to hook up an antique phone in a Model T-...

I thought everyone'd recognize that they were dressed up like Amos & Andy from the radio show! That show was done over the radio by two white guys who put on burnt-cork makeup when they'd appear in public--but in 1951 to 1953 the show hit television with black actors. They went on the air first in 1...

What a cute car. Not sure why it hasn't found a new home yet! The "original" look is great.
I don't have 1) $5200 or 2) an enclosed garage, or otherwise I'd be wanting to go check it out. Hope you can find a buyer for it.

Re: Is Cartouche still in business?
Ford phased leather out of Model T upholstery production fairly early on. I don't think they went to vinyl, since it probably didn't exist then. What they used would likely have been one or more of several cloth-backed faux-leather materials then available. Pyroxylin, a type of plastic, was widely ...

Model T temporary wheel question
I see this with a lot of older cars--people put different wheels on them sometimes when they need to work on the car. I've seen them with trailer wheels, old donut spares, etc., stuck on there to help move the car around a little bit. If someone had an old Ford chassis would they be able to stick a ...

Re: Sacriligious!
The article stated that it was built hand-formed on a body buck from original 1909 plans, so thankfully it wasn't a cut-up 1909 Ford. Unfortunately the one he built prior to this was a genuine 1915 body with a bunch of replica fenders & a Pinto engine & all that sort of nonsense, but the 1909 was a ...

Re: Saw a Model T this afternoon-
The car was certainly post-1916 as it had a black radiator -- and pre-1926 as it had no nickel shell. I believe the rings were probably an add-on like a radiator script or something like that. The car was certainly newer than the brass era. It was a handsome car & I was surprised to see a T in New B...

Saw a Model T this afternoon-
I was driving my old Corolla on Stanley Street in New Britain, Connecticut today--Sunday afternoon--and saw a Model T. Re: Electric Model T?
Model T's sound great as they are, IMHO. But as a non-T owner I was thinking what would happen to build an electric motorcar on a T frame--it's perfect. The brakes are enclosed and the tires are smaller, so two major sources of pollution (brake dust and tire fragments) are reduced. Ground clearance ...

Re: 1909: How red was red?
This sounds crazy but hear me out-- Old photos were taken with old cameras. Old cameras used the film of that time. So you're likely to have a snap-shot taken on orthochromatic film. Orthochromatic B/W film is not very sensitive to red light; a darkroom of that time would be provided with a red "saf...

I am sure there are some T fans here who know the Jones & Hare song, "Since Henry Ford Apologized to Me." Non-starter engines post-1917
Hello; Sorry about being the longtime lurker; I usually use the antique phonograph forum to get my old-junk fix, but in the interest of picking up something else with a crank on it, I was curious about Model T's and have been for a very long time. That's really unfortunate. If the wheels were respoked and it was still running OK then it was probably a car someone enjoyed & cared a lot about, not just some old wreck pulled out of the woods. Hot rodding is automotive cancer. I'm glad the parts ended up in good hands, though, instead of a recycl...
