Today, I repackaged the front wheel bearings on my 1919 Roadster Pickup for this season. After reassembling everything, I grabbed a 11/16 socket to check the hub bolt nuts. FYI, I have a Model T engine with a 25S cast date that has no serial number on the boss but does have the Ford Script and USA that is halfway on the boss and covered by the water outlet. (See photos below)

FYI, I have been told the two (2) bulb reflectors were a 1919 only feature. Before then there was a single bulb with a single filament, after 1919 the bulb had two (2) filaments in the single bulb.

I would suggest if you decide to drill that you find reverse twist drill bits that come with some easy out sets. This should not only remove material of the broken off shutoff but will loosen not tighten the joint.

Bruce, While suggesting you sell the car is easy, that word easy when added to the word out is what I would consider. David, I just did this to a 1919 Roadster. There were 6 bolts into the back of the sheetmetal. I needed a flashlight to see them. After removing some of the seat back cushion, I was able to unscrew them. I purchased black plastic push-in hole plugs I found online to fill them. See the attached photo...

Could you post a photo of an associated Clum key. I know 84 is not a typical Ford 51 -74 key number. I have several Caskey-Dupree keys with numbers between 102 &122. Any additional information would be helpful to be able to assist you.

For those who may be interested please note the photos appear to show it is equipped with an auxillary transmission, possisbly Warford, a 1914 - 25 non-starter coilbox with keyswitch in the face. Also it is missing a battery box within the rear of the frame if it would fit there. Knowledge is power....
