Got the rear running/brake Logo lights wired up, will get the turns signals next. The LED headlight are super nice.

It will be nice not having to use hand signals...I don't think many people even know what the heck they are anymore.

The Dauntless method worked great when setting up my 26, thank you Steve.

Hey Mario, if you can still get those plastic straws in O'Canada that's a plus, stock up now...there nearly outlawed here and considered hate speech if inquiring about them

Hey, Scott. Kilroy is on the trunk lid. Or should I say cooter hull.
Now I see it, to the right above the "jail" lock. I love it!

Hot rear drum...part 2

So I have some thoughts after some observations with my e-brake cam position as it relates to the lever position @ various positions. The last picture is the cam when my lever is set @ 12 O'clock or neutral, looks to be level @ 9 & 3, brake lining relaxed approx 10 1/2" The second picture is the cam...

Thanks Steve, that's just one wrap around those threads for any variation between the male petcock/female sediment bowl threads.

I have been using Gasoila for many years, enjoy your summer.

one thing leads to another, in a good way

So pulling the rear wheels and re-examining the drums/brake linings I could smell gas. Noted the sediment bowl petcock had a small drip and I usually flush this monthly and did not get much out of it when I tried. I had a replacement petcock and will get that in as the other one was plugged up. Yes ...

Thanks Scott, something I will look @ when I pull the wheels again and replace the axle housing cap set. I will also try adding a rear axle shim then road test, for .98 ea it's worth a try and probably the culprit as that hub is just in enough to rub the side of the brake shoe. Will order new rear w...

Thanks for the input fellas, will snap a shot of the wheel back on and look into that axle cap set. That Ruckstell was rebuilt and the modern neoprene inner oil seals were installed.

While things are off I might go with the neoprene outer grease seal cap set, any one currently using these?

I think...this is a pain in the A$$, glad they made it easier and better on the Model A. Then I think well....they did a 180 degrees from that and it's even better on a Flathead V8. Then I open up the hood on my modern Ford with a 5.0 with all the crap in the way and think...O'good I 'm damn glad I ...

As previously stated 280 worked great in my 26, cold lash .010 int./exh.

Also very helpful Is a forum thread that Glenn Chaffin added to from sept 4 2007, setting valve clearance a simple procedure.

Steve Jelf also has some good set up tips on his "Dauntless Geezer" site.

Band detachable ears...

When I took these apart to get re-lined seemed the first pictured narrow band for reverse had the two straight slot ears and the second narrow band for slow speed had the two rivets. Does it matter which narrow band goes on the related drums, any input would be great.
