Kevin, thank you for the offer of the flanges, and thank you for the picture of desired manifold.
When I acquired the rocker assembly from you, you included a pair of the pictured exhaust flanges.
I too want to run the exhaust under the frame so as to not modify the torpedo hood in any way.

WTB. Exhaust manifold for AKRON-HAL overhead
I am needing an exhaust manifold for an AKRON-HAL overhead set up that uses the tubes and ball bearings to actuate the valves. Any leads greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Bruce

Re: Do they make a self advancing distributor?
for the past 25+ years I have used an MG distributor with vacuum advance setup on my T with no problems what so ever. Makes the car so much easier to drive especially with a foot gas pedal.

Re: Engine installation in a TT truck
thank you all for your informative replies. Of the 6 TT frames I have recently checked, 3 of them have the e-brake shaft still installed with the top of the neutral shoe 3" from the edge of the shaft. These look to be original fitment as the bolts holding it together still have the split pins instal...

Engine installation in a TT truck
Helping install an engine in a '20 TT truck and ran into a couple of problems. Do the rear motor mount ears go over the top frame rail? and if so, then the 2 side bolts do not line up. If the rear mount ears go inside the frame rails, how high are the blocks for the ears to sit on? Also, is there a ...

Do I sense the possibility of the Akron-Hal rocker arm conversion you designed being contemplated for this remarkably generous project?

Re: 11 Torpedo windshield
John and Walter, thank you very much for the info. I have confirmed that the windshield and securing brackets on my car are repro. The bottom measures 12 3/4 " and the top half is 14 3/4" tall. I am looking into cutting the top half down to the 12 3/4" as mentioned above. I have read that the vertic...

11 Torpedo windshield
Is there only one size for the upper and lower windshield frames height? I have found several references to 12 3/4" upper and lower, 13 3/4" upper and lower, 14 3/4" lower and combinations of different measurements for both upper and lower. Pictures I have found on line show the frames line up when ...

Re: 11 Torpedo windshield need info
Walt, this picture shows the car the way I bought it 4 years ago. Since then I have been doing little cosmetic things to it and the w/s hinges are one of the last items to rectify.

Re: 11 Torpedo windshield need info
Walt: thank you for the pictures and the info. I have determined that the hinges on my windshield are repros as they do not allow the top half of the w./s to fold down without spreading the frame outward. As to the seal asy, I am going to try and reproduce what I see in your pictures.

11 Torpedo windshield need info
Are the hinges for a Rands windshield different than for other body styles ? Also should the hinges be a "matched" pair to allow the w/s to fold without forcing the upper half outwards? Lastly, is there a full width seal asy between the upper and lower half to prevent rain splashing inward. If so, i...

Re: Improved Akron-Hed sanity check
Kevin, the (in)-sanity check looks fantastic. It would be a shame to mark up the top of the valve cover in any way, but some sort of marking to indicate who and where this set-up was conceived should be considered. You can now not tell that the cover is a 3 piece affair.

What make crankshaft is this?
I bought this engine several years ago, and I have yet to identify this crankshaft. The first picture shows the name "WOHLERT" forged into it. Mains and rods are the same size as Model A crank. It does not visually resemble a Model A crank.Does anyone have any clues as to manufacture? Thank you in a...

Re: Oil pump
When building my engine 30 years ago, I opted for a 4 cyl Cortina (English Ford) geared oil pump with cannister oil filter, in place of the generator. At the time, I had a choice of geared, or vane style oil pumps. No jn line check valve was used, and it has never lost its prime, nor given any troub...

Re: Obscure speedster trivia...?
Steve you have a good memory. I do still have the head, but little progress has been made. I made a pattern to cast up the tube stands, and had some chrome moly heavier wall tubing bent for the balls. That is as far as I got. The schematic that Kevin shows is very interesting and I think is much sim...
