Picture # 16 - DeWitt, Iowa. Found it on Google Maps Street View. Best view is at 864 Old U.S. Highway 61, at the intersection of 9th Ave. The building with the pillars is still standing, as is the building next to it, but that 2nd building has been restyled. Re: Explain this ?
I think Wayne Sheldon's theory is the most valid. Only his explanation fits the fact that both the axle housing AND the Axle shaft failed at the same spot. The axle would not have suddenly failed, without being constantly flexed at that point. Therefore, there must have been flexure at that point, t...

Another thing you might try is a coat of red glyptal resin on the inside of the block, just over the area where the crack is. A gentle interrogation to determine the buyer's intent is always warranted, and frequently necessary. Any place that repairs brass band instruments should be fine with repairing that horn. They will do a much neater job than the people that built it originally, and they will probably silver-solder it. (Much stronger than soft solder.)

Is there no way to move it to the Tulare Ag center? If they aren't using it for refugees, but are using the County Fairgrounds instead, then what is the problem with using the UNUSED AG CENTER? Even if the Ag center has something else planned for that weekend, I cannot conceive of the other users be...

Early Ford Dealer Address Lists?
Has anyone ever compiled a list of the Ford Agencies by address, from the 1910-1930 period? I know that at the end of the Model T period, Ford lost about 50% of their dealers, some voluntarily gave them up, and others were simply fired for complaining about the Model T's unsalability. There are good...

Could these be from an aftermarket kit that installs front wheel brakes on the Model T? Too bad the rest of the parts are missing. Perhaps someone has one of these kits (or a similar one) installed on their Model T and can show how this installation works?

H. H. Franklin of the Franklin Automobile Co developed the die-casting process into a useable industrial business. It IS a cool car. I think the asking price is just too much for only an authentic body, though. The later running gear is what is hobbling this sale. Nobody wants to pay $24,000 for a body that is worth $10,000 and a chassis that's worth $2500. And then have to build a 1917 chassis up, to put the bo...

I think the numbers are WAY higher than that.
