Re: 12v Battery vs 6v Battery requirements
Most people don't notice the 6 Volt and 12 Volt battery size is a little taller than the 6 Volt, but otherwise the same physical size. The real difference is you have six more cell walls and three more cell partitions, but not near as many of the inside parts required to make the electricity. So, if...

Tar can also explode when it is warmed too fast.
That kind of makes it not being able to be mailed in the U S Post Office.

Steve, those parts that attach to the frame are just called irons in my 1928 Ford parts book.
The part I need has two rivets on each side to attach to the fender with them, and they are called brackets.
They will fit in a box about 6 X 6 X 4 inches.
Most dealers have the rivets, but not the part.

TrueFire Coil Option
Now that coils are getting harder to find, is anyone still using the TrueFire system and finding it satisfactory?
Some sort of an update to that system might be worthwhile now!

Frank, great art work, but I have not seen the car, so I don't really know what the problem was, other than it was not a 12 volt battery with both terminals on the same side.
I should see the car this weekend.

A little more information still confuses me! The battery is a 6 Volt type the same size as a Group 1 or very close to that same size. The terminals are opposite and not in line, but they are reverse from the Group 1 battery shown above. That is why my friend told me he had to remove the negative gro...

Is there another 6 Volt Battery the same size as the Group 1 Battery that has both terminals on the same size rather than on opposite sides?

Re: Don't flame me. Looking for backfiring assistance.
The most probable cause is the rotor turns the other way an #2 and #3 spark wires reversed.
Remove those two spark plug wires and start it on two cylinders to see of the backfire is gone.

14 X 24 Treads Per Inch were used in several places and are only about .003 smaller than 1/4th inch, so they might be used there.

Now they are selling Mountain bikes and Electric bikes with about the same size tires.

Holly G Brass Float Availability
A friend has a couple Model G Holley carbs with the 'newer' composite floats.
The 'G' float is larger in diameter than the 'NH' that has brass floats available.
Some fuels seem to destroy those composite floats!
Does anyone sell a replacement brass 'G' larger diameter float?

Re: Need Help with My Head Lights
The ground terminal was only required if you were using a real Magneto for the sparks.
Those Magnetos require a ground to turn off the sparks and stop the engine.
Not many are in use anymore, but some switches still have the ground terminal.

Re: Update: BAND SPRINGS TOO SHORT?
The Kevlar Bands are a lot thicker when new and that requires the longer spring. They can be placed around a drum and compressed with a C Clamp to make them thinner before use. Normally new Kevlar bands require three adjustments after a very few miles and then they are good for a year or more with n...

The Model Year change was on 1 October in those early years. The Model Year was real short about 1918 and changed to 1 August for many years after that. I don't recall the company name, but I still have their catalog. Rumor had it the 16 inch plastic wheels exploding caused the company to shut down. A Good Lead, thank you.
I got a phone call and was told Snyders has them.
They didn't have them on their website a week or two ago, I should have called and asked them.
So, I should have three sets delivered on Wednesday.
I will buy a couple taps, as well!
