Re: Himico Cylinder Head

The HIMICO motor I had was complete except for the lost shift plate. The head was marked AC.

Re: Two Piece Lug Nuts on Modern Vehicles

Just went through this doing brakes on my son's jeep 2 weekends ago. Spun the metal caps, chiseled them off, rounded lug nuts. Got off 9 of 10 then was stuck. Torch in the center of the last one and burned the stud and nut out. Luckily didn't burn the wheel with the sunken lug nut. Threw all that ju...

Re: Have you had a drum failure ? POLL

Funny stuff to read here year after year. Dance with the devil and pay the price. There is an obvious conclusion regarding kevlar that has been known for many years. It is "bullet proof" and used for helmets and vests but in a model t transmission not a wise choice. Regardless of adjustment or drivi...

Re: OT period whatizit?

Not really a razor but a razor sharpener. It flips the blade back and forth on each stroke to sharpen both edges.

Re: FJ - How to keep your trailer from being stolen

FJ, I like your target poster and the gun image but everybody does that and criminals have guns also. I had an uncle in Southern CA who owned a sign company and at the front of his ranch he had a sign with an image of a coiled rattle snake and it read "Warning, experimental rattle snake farm". Nobod...

Re: OT - Ford Tractor (1) old man (0)

Ted, if that was the case to get a new tractor with a safety switch we should all sell our Model T's and get cars with air bags and seat belts! We are a group who likes a previous generation of equipment but along with that comes some risks. This is a good post of what was common and what can happen...

Re: OT - Ford Tractor (1) old man (0)

Holy crap Tim that is scary. I plow with the same tractor and blade and am surprised it stalled and didn't just sit and spin or go right over the fence. I also learned that when going backwards on those tractors you have to be sure to keep your feet well inside on the running boards. About a year ag...

Re: Differential oil leak

This doesn't sound right to me if you were able to place a "shim" (?) 1" long between the halves and seal the outside of it. One side has a ridge and the other has a recess and they should fit together tight. From what I read, the halves are not engaged together properly. If this is true one half co...

Re: Race Car Project

I am afraid one big bump on a turn or a curb and the axle will fold over to the side.

Re: Race Car Project

I am concerned with your front lowering system as it is like a step ladder with no steps. That is a big drop and even if the welds hold there will be constant stress with each bump and turn. Eventually it may fold over left or right. You could plate or box the lowering bracket in the rear or both fr...
