Martin, If you can't get a float from a vintage MOPAR parts supplier, try contacting Langs T parts and see if they can get you a big enough portion of alcohol safe float foam to make your own float using the old one as a pattern. https://www.modeltford.com/model-t-part ... age-8.aspx

Re: Winfield SR vs Zenith S4BF
Jeff, In case you didn't know, in your picture of your Winfield SR the carb is missing the bottom half of the accelerator at the fuel bowl bottom. This is the part that gives the engine extra gas at quick throttle opening, like the accelerator pump on a more modern carb. On the Winfield S the bottom...

Harold, You answered your own question. The 1st Ford chassis was mainly designed for use as a Touring Car. The smaller 30" x 3" tires were cheaper than the 30" x 3.5" tires, and the weight on the front axle was less than it was on the back when loaded. With the back seat loaded with maybe three peop...

Frank; Having been into everything from stock Model T's and A's, to Model T speedsters, to pre 1948 street rod's, I think that Tony is messing with us a little, but he does have a point about making the car what you want, to enjoy it most. In the early to mid 1920's many early brass Model T's that w...

James, Fix and adjust the dragging parking brakes not to drag on drums when hand lever is forward. Also read post on how to adjust for a free neutral. When you clean and repaint the drums in the damaged area, keep the repaint to a thin layer, the burnt paint looks way to hick in the picture.

Pikes Peak and Bobby Unser's 1969 Ford Torino winner
We all know a little about the 1922 Rajo Model T race car that Noel Bullock built and won Pikes Peak with. Today's Hemmings on line has a story and some race film clips about the 1969 Torino that Ford had built for Bobby Unser to win with. It may not be Model T but it is a interesting Ford story. Th...

This is another long shot, but because your car was fine before the U and J carburetor change, try checking the rod from the bell crank to the carb. It is at a different angle now and may need some tightening at the carb or bell crank. When car is warm it is in a different position, so no noise.

Greg, The white marks look like they could be house paint. I would start by using soap and water on a clean rag using light rubbing. If that doesn't work you can try some of the other suggestions, be careful if you try lacquer thinner it could dull the surface of the topping.

Donnie, That brass thing at #1- #2 intake is odd, it could have been installed by someone due to past hard start problems.
