Wayne Sheldon: You make many good points but you said, " No offense intended toward non-crazy people of either gender ", you forgot that in Ca. the politicians say there about 26 different genders, and that you better not address someone by the wrong one of the 26 from the one they identify with. I saw this story on line this morning and thought about posting it on this Forum, but then decided to let it pass, what difference does it make to the Ca. politicians. Here in the PRC,= Peoples Republic of California = in our Ca. government = same as PRK= Peoples Republic of Korea= North Korea. Shoo...

Re: Tire Size

Harold, You answered your own question. The 1st Ford chassis was mainly designed for use as a Touring Car. The smaller 30" x 3" tires were cheaper than the 30" x 3.5" tires, and the weight on the front axle was less than it was on the back when loaded. With the back seat loaded with maybe three peop...

Frank; Having been into everything from stock Model T's and A's, to Model T speedsters, to pre 1948 street rod's, I think that Tony is messing with us a little, but he does have a point about making the car what you want, to enjoy it most. James, Fix and adjust the dragging parking brakes not to drag on drums when hand lever is forward. Also read post on how to adjust for a free neutral. When you clean and repaint the drums in the damaged area, keep the repaint to a thin layer, the burnt paint looks way to hick in the picture.

Pikes Peak and Bobby Unser's 1969 Ford Torino winner

We all know a little about the 1922 Rajo Model T race car that Noel Bullock built and won Pikes Peak with. Today's Hemmings on line has a story and some race film clips about the 1969 Torino that Ford had built for Bobby Unser to win with. It may not be Model T but it is a interesting Ford story. Th...

Re: Interesting tinny sound at startup

This is another long shot, but because your car was fine before the U and J carburetor change, try checking the rod from the bell crank to the carb. It is at a different angle now and may need some tightening at the carb or bell crank. When car is warm it is in a different position, so no noise.

Greg, The white marks look like they could be house paint. I would start by using soap and water on a clean rag using light rubbing. If that doesn't work you can try some of the other suggestions, be careful if you try lacquer thinner it could dull the surface of the topping.

NO you don't, the era accessory under axle wishbone brace meets up with the stock over axle wishbone in a way that it is not necessary to change the steering arms, in fact they were designed and used long before Ford's later design. If you have the straight steering arms that go with the 1918 and earlier over axle wishbone you will need to change them to the later type offset arms
to clear your new under axle wishbone.

The crud in the oil will be harder on the thin bearing with out the flow, and hopefully filtered, oil...

Frank, I don't know the target info in crank deg's of rotation, the spray hits the dipper a little before BDC above the dip tray that fills with oil, and would hit the bottom of the rod a little after it leaves the dip tray. Donnie, You could try a cold engine hand cranked start with #4 or #3 plug removed and see if it fires on three cylinders. Donnie, That brass thing at #1- #2 intake is odd, it could have been installed by someone due to past hard start problems.
