I had the same screws on my 1927 coupe as shown in the two photos. You can see the remains of the material that it held which was a vertical strip along the door opening. I will take a pic of the new strip I installed the next time I am at the garage.

Re: Throttle Rod Position on My NH Carb

Based on comments received, I have ordered the short throttle and chock levers from Lang's. The catalog lists the NH long levers for 1919-25 and the short levers for 1926. I am curious. Why the difference?

Re: Pulling a Model T

Craig, The reason I asked about pulling a T is that I will soon be driving my coupe for the first time since it has been restored. I will be driving in and around a park which is about a mile from my son's garage. I can't imagine anything happening where I would have to pull it back, but thought I w...

Re: NH Carb Spray Needle Adjustment

John Karvaly, You pointed out that the friction tabs on 26-27 repop needles are too long and suggested a picture. The attached photo shows that could be my situation, especially if you zoom in on it. I assume grinding the ends of the tabs would correct it, even though that may be difficult. Thanks! ...

NH Carb Spray Needle Adjustment

I start my engine with the carb control rod 1 3/4 turns open and then adjust it down until the engine smooths out, which I understand should be about 1/4 turn open. However, the engine runs the best when the control rod no longer turns! I assume, when the control rod stops turning, the spray needle ...

Throttle Rod Position on My NH Carb

The first photo shows the position of throttle rod with the throttle lever closed and the second photo shows the throttle rod with the throttle lever wide open. Is the set screw in the first photo in the correct position?

Re: The Restoration of My 1927 Coupe is Near Completion

Harvey, Thanks for your complement. Are you living in Cayuga? I was born in my grandparent's house in Ransom which was located 1 mile north of Cayuga. (In 1937, it was the only residence remaining in the town.) It was during a North Dakota blizzard, and the Doctor couldn't get there so my grandmothe...

The Restoration of My 1927 Coupe is Near Completion

I purchased the coupe from a farmer when I was a junior in high school in 1954. I started the restoration in the fall of 2020. I want to share ten photos to show what it looks like today and what it looked like with my father and mother standing by it in 1959. They had just driven it in a parade cel...

Need Suggestions for Stop Lights/Turning Signals for My Coupe

I need suggestions for stop lights/turning signals for my 1927 coupe. Locations and types, etc. I have front and rear bumpers. The rears are the short split type.

The suppliers' catalogs have a number of options.

Re: I Have Fan Belt Problem on My 1927 Coupe

Norm, Thanks for the suggestion. I did what you suggested. However, I had to rotate the hub "clockwise", looking from the cab toward the radiator, not "counterclockwise". It solved my problem as shown in the attached photos.

The last two photos show the commutator rod in the two extreme positions.

I Have Fan Belt Problem on My 1927 Coupe

I used a string to measure the distance around the fan hub (ball bearing hub) and crankshaft pulley (original pulley). It measured 32 inches, so I ordered the "32 inch endless belt,1926-27" show in the supplier's catalog. I could not get it on, so I ordered the 33 1/8" belt. It touches the New Day T...

Re: Just Curious!

Jerry V in his May 13 (6:41am) reply raised the possibility that water maybe leaked into the oil. The block was inspected during the engine restoration so I doubted that there had been leakage. I checked the coolant level in the radiator, but I couldn't remember the level to which I filled it. There...

Just Curious!

I haven't started my restored engine yet. I put four and half quarts of oil in it several weeks ago. I left the top petcock open, and I stopped putting oil in when I first saw oil starting to come out of it. I recently noticed oil seeping out of that petcock, so I replaced it yesterday. Before I rem...
