Re: Tree hugger
That’s the beauty of everyone owning an electric car...! When the county issues a permit to install a smart charger at your home... you unknowingly authorize the local utility to use your vechicle battery as a community storage device! Just imagine, your utility company can charge, or draw, from yo...

Re: Battery carrier tool...old school
It looks like the positive end at one time had an insulated bushing on the swivel pin or coating. Hard to say.Jack Putnam, in Ohio wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 8:52 pmInteresting design on this battery tool. Perhaps not a well thought out design, but well built. What are your thoughts? Probably was not a big seller.

This is what you want. Same idea, but safer. Mine gave up after 45 years. This one is two years old.

Being a retired electrician, I can tell you that is an accident looking for a place to happen.
Ever see a wet cell battery explode? Not pretty.

The coeffecient of friction of bare steel on leather vs powder coat and leather is virtually the same.
.5-.6.
I am fully aware of T requirements.
A rubber impregnated belt is slightly improved.

Re: Crankshaft Belt Pulley
It was a well known fact (back in the day) that you never paint the contact surface of a belt pulley because the belt won’t grip. Powder-coat will NEVER wear off unless it is of extremely poor quality. You may be correct about wear, but it works fine. This pulley has more time than any T will ever ...

Speaking of shipping, if you insure an item for $1000 at UPS, it is hand carried, and never sees a conveyor.
I ship stereo equipment that way.

Re: Holley NH jet orifice size?
Marshall, In the simplest of terms, the NH is a "puddle" carb, and just lets fuel in to the venturi according to a needle valve versus the manifold pressure. Just like a needle valve on a swamp cooler or ice maker, as long as it varies from off to full on, your good. Tweak to max RPM and your good. ...

My Z head from Lang's fared just fine in a thick wall cardboard box.
I am with Les. Cut a piece of masonite to protect the surface, slip it in a tight box. It will ship fine.

Re: Model T on a 2-post lift
I have a two post for my other cars and with creative use of adapters to clear the running boards use it for my ‘26 RPU. I use high-lift jack stands to add stability/safety for the T pickup - nose-heavy and flexible. If the T were my only vintage car, I would stick to a jack and regular jack stands...

Jeffery Thank you for the information. I have a two post hoist which I use often. Right now it has my 67 Mercury M100 project on it(only in Canada)!! I will pick up a pair of your suggested posts (10 ft should do nicely). At 71 I REALLY hate crawling around on the floor! 20201111_111329.jpg 2020111...

I work on Corvettes on the side. 16051101855484142759450863942226.jpg This is a 99 C5R factory race engine here right now. The lift can hold the T all the way up, and I can park my C3 corvette underneath. On a two post, checking wheels, brakes, alignment, etc. on the T is easy. The T is on a friends...
