Re: Wire wheel ID
They look like T wheels to me. A model wheels are easy to identify. They have a raised ridge pressed outwards between each stud hole. This stiffens up the hub so the wheels do not crack between the stud holes like some T wheels do.

There were some bun type side lights with fixed mounting studs on the side rather than the usual rear studs. Two points Robert. The pair of holes on either side of the split in the Canadian rim are there for a special tool used when collapsing and expanding the rim. As I understand it, tempered glass is glass which has been cut to size first, before it goes through the tempering process. You could probably have a half dozen plain glass lenses cut for the price of having one tempered lens made, without the delay.

Jeff, fitting a tube with one side of the tyre still on the rim is a major reason why many tyres have notches cut in their beads. Donnie, presumably you dated it for 1915 on the basis that the pedals are ribbed. On or Canadian cars the pedals were ribbed right up to 1925, so your hogshead would suit 1915-1919 cars prior to the introduction of the starter motor.

Martynn here are a couple of photos of some details from an original firewall from a 1922 Canadian RHD car. Notice the chamfer and two mounting holes to accommodate a magneto horn, not used on this car. Note the relief on the side for the hinge on the hood. This is between the rain gutter piece a d ...

Re: Fuel filter
Just maybe the original screen was spun in to keep it in place, rather than pressed. That would account for no solder on an original part. There's no way the spun lip could be prised up all the way around to allow the same fit again. A neat solder job will do the job nicely. Even an ugly one will no...

Re: WTB…..10 leaf rear spring
Just adding extra leaves is not the entire solution. There are three curves in a long rear spring leaf. As soon as you try to add another, it upsets the stack and they will not necessarily fit together well. Each leaf needs to be worked on so that it properly fits. Adding an extra no 3 leaf means al...

Martynn, a couple of things I noticed are at variance with what I know of Canadian cars, which may be different to US production. Steve, I solder {not sodder} a marked circle around the mesh before fitting it. That way any excess can be directed away from the centre circle. With that tinning done, and the fixture tinned too, it is just a matter of sweating the two together.
Hope this helps.

Re: Renumbering a Block Using Metal Stamps
Terry, you don't need to stamp the block at all. Get a sheet of white paper, dirty up a finger, and make a pressing of the block water outlet/engine number pad. This will give you a paper template to make a brass sheet cut to shape. Then stamp the number you want on the sheet off the car, with whate...

Timber between the frame rail and the added body is used to isolate the body from the truck. It greatly reduces harshness and noise, especially when the truck is empty. Hardwood lasts longer and does not crush so much.

I have fitted 26-7 brake drums without machining them back and they fit in the earlier pans. You just cant run the wide band and lining on them, even if you make "adjustments" to the band ears so they line up with the earlier pedals. It saves modifying an original Ford part.

The steering shaft should only be cut at the end and a new taper, keyway and thread cut. A side benefit is an unworn section of the shaft will now be running in the lower bracket bronze bushing.

Asbestos in T transmission bands is likely nothing to be concerned about. There is no chance of free, friable asbestos being produced. Far better in this application than in usual brakes and the dust they produce.

The threaded holes on all brake drums, early and 26-7 are a weak point. Both styles are often cracked. Machining the earlier ones would only make the problem worse. Best solution is a Dave Nolting new drum with the separate clutch lugs. Next best is a good 26-7 drum and drive plate, which is a troub...

Epoxied back together, it would make a pattern for a new one to be cast in steel. You might even find a market for a couple of extra castings to help with the costs. I broke an early Stevens drive shaft puller once. I know how it makes one feel.

That's the one Eric, but yours has a spurious drain cock. With the hex screwing up in close contact with the bulb like that, the thread may have been re-tapped to a parallel thread for that petcock.

Ford designated parts as left and right, acknowledging that the driver's /passenger's side depends on the market. Using left and right as descriptors removes any confusion.
