Are there any instructions or guidance on rebuilding a Holley G carb? Where the passages go etc. Loads of stuff on the NH, but all I can find on the G is taking the carb half way apart, cleaning up the parts a little and putting it back together.

Although it was my "modern" car, I had the same situation about 10 years ago. No battery problems, drove the car to work, went to leave for lunch, 100% dead...nothing, Turned out one of the plates in the battery dropped and did a total short internally. A new battery did the trick..

Here's some pics of a of the top of a Bridgeport No 5 I happened to have off a pump. You can see how the top of the pump and the nut squishes the packing. The "antique" packing seems to look like it is oil soaked leather.

Holley G carb float… cork or modern replacement?

I’m rebuilding brass Holley G for my ‘14 touring. The carb I’m building has an OK cork float that needs sealed, but I thought I would replace it with the modern material float that’s available. First, the new float is about 3/16” thicker than the cork float. Is this to compensate for the flotation d...

The Rootlieb speedster kits use a torpedo hood which is 2" longer than the normal T hood. I'm guessing since these plans are based on the same speedster you're going to have to get a new hood. You also need to modify the firewall brackets to make things fit.

Re: New mirrors for acetylene lamps

"I think Craig Riker, in Ohio will re-silver mirrors"

Craig does plating of reflectors, he doesn't resilver glass. He does do a great job of getting your reflectors in top notch condition, or anything else you need to have nickle or chrome plated.

What does it say in the small circle in the middle of the cover with the hump in it? Take a little paint stripper to it and see what info is there....

Need some advice from you guys on my dad's Depot Hack project littl

This goes back to the early 1970's when my dad got a bunch of "T" parts from his friend to build a depot hack. It's a bitsa car.... Titled as a 1925, the engine is 1923, the frame 1927 etc. In high school at the time I took on the project on his behalf. This whole project was me as the restorer and ...

Went to look at some "Model T Doors".... What are they?

I bought a few things from a young man at a swap meet that was selling some things from his deceased grandfather's barn that was about to collapse. He said he had some rust free, dent free model t doors he wanted to sell and wondered if I knew anybody that needed some. I didn't need them, but though...

I had some Mae West ones welded up….. a friend took them into the Jeep plant in Toledo, welded them up, turned them down and had them hardened to specs. It sure helps if you have the equipment available.

A friend of mine, Craig Riker does polishing / plating for antique and classic cars. Pat, this is going on a speedster with the oval shaped tank. The carbs are too high to use the normal gravity system. There are a lot of speedsters out there with the pressurized system, someone has to know how they're set up.

Gas Tank Pressure Pump Plumbing?

Any advice on plumbing in an air pump on the gas tank? I'm guessing I need to put in a relief valve to let off pressure. I've seen valves that will bleed off excess pressure at a pre determined limit, will these work? On the other end, if you're out in the sun and park the car in the garage it will ...

Questions on a Double Barrel Bridgeport Pump

Just a couple questions on this Bridgeport pump I picked up at Hershey.... 1) Is this handle correct? Are the "divots" where the rod goes through supposed to be there or is it something someone did to get easier access to the nuts? I couldn't find a definitive pic online. 2) What is the correct hose...

I'm working on getting the "open" pictures. It's been in the closed position for a LONG time and it kind of likes it there. I've got it soaking in penetrating oil and it's going to have to wait until after Hershey, so hopefully it will be moving then and I can post the open position. I stumbled on i...

OK, After I said the Chocolate field I remembered all the parts behind the stadium (is that part of the red field?) I know 2 years ago they got moved, is that open again this year? Also on the very west side, maybe the orange field? in the area where you cross for the Saturday car show.

Re: New to Hershey

The stuff is all over... If I HAD to pick one I'd probably say the Chocolate field, although Lang's is in the Red field. Your best bet would to buy a program when you get there, the vendors list what their specialty is and plan your attack from there. Do you have or have access to a 3 wheel scooter?...

What to use for a pressure gauge?

I'm working on a speedster and want to use a pressurized fuel system with a hand pump. Where can I get a pressure gauge that will read that low? I'm guessing I want something that reads 0-5 lbs. What should the pressure be on a sealed unit? 1-2 lbs?

Couldn't that mounting bracket be rotated 180 degrees so the mounting point would be closer to the firewall? It seems weight distribution would be better too.
