Re: Falling Noise in Wheel

Thank you everyone for your help. It sounds as though a good cleaning and rust inhibitors with silicone to seal the wheel should help. Is there a test to determine the soundness of the wheel other than driving the car?

Thanks again.

Falling Noise in Wheel

In the process of changing tires on my 1926 Coupe I heard an odd noise coming from the left front wire wheel. :o If I turn the wheel and then stop turning I hear a sound similar to pouring rust across metal. It does not sound like bearings and the sound lasts longer than I would expect from bearings...

Wheel Rim Hole Bushing

I've searched and was unable to locate anything on this forum that might answer my questions on my tire change. I have a 1926 Coupe with wire wheels and I would like to know if anyone has used the plastic wheel rim hole bushings for tube type valves to reduce hole size. If you have used the plastic ...

1926 Coupe Wiring Questions

I am working my way through the electrical system on my 1926 Coupe that was converted to 12 volts before I made the purchase. During the process of replacing the Ignition Switch I noticed several differences in the wiring of my Coupe and the wiring diagram I reviewed on the Texas T Parts website 26-...

Tubes ad Tires

I am still working my way through my 1926 T Coupe and I'm finding that there are many things either I don't understand or perhaps I am only confusing myself when it comes to my T. An example of something that I may be over-thinking is what I found when I was looking into safely storing my T. In the ...

Re: Disc brakes

I have disc brakes on my nondemountable T wheels, but if I have a flat or want to take off the wheel for whatever reason, I have to totally dismantle the discs. If you have a demoutable wheel setup it is easy because you don’t remove the whole wheel. To bleed the system you will sweat blood especial...

Re: Magneto Question

Susanne, Thank you very much, I have the meter and can do that quite easily. We're currently quarantined (COVID exposure) and I'm feeling rough enough that I will not go near the T for a few days. I do not want to work on the T unless I'm feeling better. No need for me to cause self inflicted damage...

Re: Magneto Question

Steve, Thank you for this information. I'm about ready to start working through the electrical components and this will be very helpful not only with the magneto but with re-wiring the ignition switch. It's always good to know where you're going and I know this will take me there. Best regards, DIYer

Magneto Question

I recently purchased my 1926 Coupe (my first T) and I have managed to get the Coupe to run. The Coupe has been converted to 12 volts and seems to run fine. Other than the normal things like changing oil, antifreeze and antifreeze I am curious whether the Coupe still has its magneto. The ignition swi...

Unknown Cylinder Head and Lubrication Questions

I recently purchased a 1926 T Coupe and the head appears to be aluminum. The only markings I have been able to see are “VTH-1000H” and “20-27”. Could anyone tell me anything about this head? I’m working through the Coupe a little at a time. She starts and drives well. I plan to change the motor oil ...
