Re: Layne Warford

On my 27 touring I reversed the shifter in the housing. Just remove the shifter, turn it 180 degrees and re-install. It will fit either way. That makes it sit close to the seat. Then I shortened it so the top of the shift knob is at the top of seat cushion or slightly above it. Leave it just tall en...

Speedster project turns 102 years old today, born Feb., 4, 1919

Well today is the speedster projects birthday. It was born Feb, 4, 1919. The engine frame, axles, steering ect, are correct 1919 parts. So in my opinion it is a 1919 car. The rest is original Model T accessories from the era. There are very, very, few repro parts on the car. I tried very hard to use...

Re: Want To Buy.... removable hand crank accessory

Tim, I also have a very extensive collection of accessories as well as many accessory catalogs. This is also a new one for me. This is information I could have used a few weeks ago. On my speedster project I have a lowered front axle using Laurel brackets. The original straight front axle would hit ...

Sold. Alternator for Model T

Sold, Thanks MTFCA . I have a alternator for a Model T. It is labeled 12 volt. I got this at an estate sale and know nothing about it. Im not very good with electrical items so I have no way to test it. It turns freely and the gear looks good. If anyone needs it Ill take 25.00 plus 15.50 USPS medium...

Re: speedster project update. Took the first ride yesterday :) :)

PDGx Thanks for the suggestion, If I have to use a new leather belt, our TSC does have a good choice. Im hoping for a used old worn and dirty leather belt/strap. My car is a "patina" car so anything new looks out of place. If I have to use a new one Ill age it somehow... John, I have a very nice hoo...

Re: speedster project update. Took the first ride yesterday :) :)

Kathy will still ride in the T, but after she heard some of us talking about disc brakes, she is all about getting disc on the 27 tour car. Before the wreck, I was at the point of wanting them my self. We drive it too much to not consider putting them on the tour car. As to the speedster, she is not...

Re: speedster project update. Took the first ride yesterday :) :)

Henry, If you will remember, about 2 to 3 months ago I turned our 27 T upside down in a ditch, while on tour, with "my girl" with me. She said no more rides till I get disc brakes on the 27 tour car. So I see a "uphill" climb to get her to ride in this one. She may do a "photo shoot" but no rides at...

speedster project update. Took the first ride yesterday :) :)

Well after 6 years of working on the speedster project, I got to go for the first ride yesterday. I was still having a little problem with the engine "stumbling" when I would give it gas. I pretty much decided it was running "lean" But other than a few "pops" thru the carb, it actually did very well...

Re: speedster project. Craveroiler/Marvel Mystery Oil

Hudson, When the incoming air passes thru the oil, the air gets saturated with oil as the bubbles vaporize the oil. I assume that the more air you allow thru the oil, the more saturated the air becomes and the more oil saturated air is going to the intake and mixing with the incoming air/fuel ratio.

Re: for sale RAJO 4 Valve rocker arm covers. two separate covers style.

Just to show what they will look like on a engine, here are a couple photos of the covers on my engine during mock-up time, from a couple years ago. For some reason there is a piece of tape on the rear cover. ??? It is not a flaw in the cover.

Sold pending payment ... RAJO 4 Valve rocker arm covers. two separate covers style.

SOLD, pending payment .... Thanks MTFCA, they sold very fast .... I have a pair of Rajo 4 valve rocker arm covers. These are the two single separate style covers. They came with the Repro heads made in the 80s 90s era, or also were made for awhile and sold separate. They are tall enough to clear the...

Re: speedster project. Craveroiler/Marvel Mystery Oil

Tim, I made the spacer blocks from 2 inch thick aluminumn bar stock I bought on e-bay. I drilled the hole same size as intake on my old worn out drill press, then I traced around the intake with the holes aligned with a craftsmen socket that just fit :). Then I cut out the shape on my wood working b...
