Hi Andy,
I tested about 25 coils for different folks. Some needed adjustment which we did. Only one timer was tested which was a new New Day timer.

Re: Horsepower difference without magnets?
Dennis, I have performed power measurements to determine the power it takes to run the magneto and the power to spin oil with the flywheel/magnet assembly. Those results were published in the May/June, 2022, issue of the Vintage Ford (Vol.57, no.3). Although I cannot answer your specific question th...

Re: Get your coils and/or timer tested at Chickasha
Hi James,
Thanks for the question. I gave a 2.5 hr presentation about my measurement system at the Winter Clinic this year at McPherson College and Bill Howell video taped it. It will be available on UTube in the near future. I'll post a link when it's available.

Get your coils and/or timer tested at Chickasha
I have developed a benchtop tester which fully simulates the performance of the timer / coil ignition system, including operation on magneto voltage on the Model T. The system can measure the performance of any timer running on battery or magneto at any desired rpm. In addition, the system can drive...

Re: Understanding ignition dwell and the Model T timer
This thread has a lot of interesting observations, questions and comments. At the risk of motivating a lot of interesting feedback I'm going to chime in with observations of my own on coil performance. Obviously, one must have the cushion spring set to about 0.005 in and the point gap to 0.030 to st...

Re: Tony Wiltshire
We are all shocked and saddened at Tony's passing. The entire board and MTFCA staff send our sympathy to Susan and the family. Tony was a great resource for our museum and contributed a lot to our hobby. I had many interactions with Tony in person and will miss him.

Re: Montana 500 Updates ?
Had a good day today, almost 300 miles driving with about 204 on the clock. We saw some beautiful country along the way. We are currently 11th out of 20 cars that started and hopefully will finish in at least that position tomorrow. We have about 86 miles to go tomorrow to round out a total of 500. ...

We have started a new subcategory on the forum titled 'Services'. There are a number of members that provide a variety of services such as restorations, rebuilds, transportation, etc and it makes sense to put these items in a standalone area for convenience for our users. Please note that all of the...

Brian Jordan, Eric Sayer and Jerry Kramer were elected as MTFCA Board members for the 2021-2023 term. Congratulations to them! I want to personally thank Rod Barrett and Steve Bourgeois for also running. The nine member Board sets the policy and direction for the Club, meeting several times a year e...

Spokane National Tour Postponed to 2021
The MTFCA and the organizing committee have postponed this summer's National Tour to the summer of 2021 due to all the uncertainties associated with the Corona virus. We are concerned about the health of our members, especially the more 'seasoned' ones. Also, even if Washington state might be in goo...

My grandson and I have used the product from Eastwood (see post link above) in his '27 gas tank and it has worked well. No issues since we coated it 2 years ago.

Re: MTFCA Announces Publication of New Book: "HCCT Handbook" by Bob Cascisa and Ron Patterson
A little clarification concerning the "HCCT Handbook" is in order. The authors, Bob Cascisa and Ron Patterson, approached the MTFCA Board of Directors last year and told us they were planning on writing the handbook to document information concerning the HCCT. The offer to the board was to donate th...
