Re: Is a 1911 Built With Many NonOriginal Parts Worthy of being Here?

Steve, Every Model T has a story to tell, I for one love the early cars. I love even more early cars with their original early parts. I bought a 1912 commercial roadster once upon a time which had a lot of parts that were not correct for 1912. My fault, I should have done my research and known bette...

WTB 26/27 Horn

I need a horn for my new ride. A stock 26/27 battery horn. Don't really care what it looks like, this is an unrestored truck, but I do need it to work. It would look best without a new shiny paint job.

Re: WTB Martin-Parry Express Body Spare tire carrier

From a distance it does look similar to a 26/27 roadster spare tire carrier. Although I'm not sure what it looks like, I know it was made by Martin-Parry with their logo stamped on it. It was not fastened to the side of the body panel according to the MP website. Looks to me it had to be fastened to...

Re: 13T - Starting issues and mixture adjustments

I love the cars we call Model T's. They all have their own unique personality. I've been trying to get to know this 1912 delivery for about 10 months now. He has not let me know his secret yet. I know I will understand him soon and we will be friends. I have got some really good suggestions on here ...

Re: 13T - Starting issues and mixture adjustments

Jerry, I have checked the linkage on the spark lever. It looks fine to me. When all the way up it is set at 15 degrees past top dead center. I have checked this a couple of different ways. I had a 1912 Holly on it. I tried a kingston 4 ball and I now have a holley NH that was running good off anothe...

Re: 13T - Starting issues and mixture adjustments

James, the engine has no noticeable end-play. This car was built and sat for 35 years without being moved. When I got it I had very little compression. 20lbs. I pulled the head and the oil pan inspection cover. I honed the cylinders, installed new pistons and rings along with new valves and valves s...

Re: 13T - Starting issues and mixture adjustments

I have had the same issue with my 1912 delivery. I have tried for months to had crank it. It will start with the crank once in a blue moon. If I pull start it or let it roll down a hill it will usually start right up. I have checked every thing I know to check. I have set the throttle and spark in e...

Re: 1926-27 Bumpers???

I do! The front brackets on my 27 Fordor fit pretty good with just a little bending involved. On the other hand the rear brackets are a major undertaking to bend to clear the Fordor body. I bolted mine to an extra Model T frame I had and bent them attached to that frame. It requires an additional 1....

Ruckstell Housing Bent???

I am in the process of building a Ruckstell axle for my 1926 pickup. Going by the book I am down to checking the axle housings for being straight. My Ford side (passenger side) looks great, but on the Ruckstell side, the axle is 5/8" out of center at the outside end. I don't see any bend in the Ruck...

Re: HP At A Minimal Cost

I'm with Jim on this. I had an engine built with high compression pistons. Never lived up to my expectations. I took the engine back down and rebuilt it with aluminum pistons and one of Kevin's P Heads. Same engine, same car. The car came to life. It made all the difference in the world. I have ano...

My biggest Tip for a new Model T driver is, Don't be afraid to drive her. Check to make sure she is mechanically sound then put her on the road.

Re: What to you, gives a Model T its charm?

For me it's a combination of a lot of things. The History. The car literally changed society as we know it. It's mechanical ability. This little car will go like you would never think along with being able to fix it on the side of the road. Most of all and what I think attracts most people to The Mo...
