What Scott said above is correct. I will just add that you need at least 5 MTFCA members to start a new chapter.

Re: Running the Ford Special racer in the dark

Hi Rob, reat videos / pictures. It looks like #1 is putting out less blue flame that the others. Does that mean anything? I don't know, but guess that it doesn't mean anything. Harold mentioned that the lift is 3.75 less the valve lash. Like the others said, that's probably what's causing the rough ...

Considering your rough idle makes me wonder what cam do you have in this, or how much lift compared to other cams, like 270, 280, 310, etc.? Just wondering...

Besides being a dedicated Model T'er, Pete was always a true gentleman, and was always smiling. I always enjoyed seeing him at Hershey and on the tours. He was one of the "good guys" and will be missed. Our sympathy and prayers for Mary and Pete's entire family.

These are being reproduced. See Langs catalog page 114, part number 3947LB for the left side $19.95. Other suppliers like Chaffins & Snyders probably have these also.

To add to what George posted above, On our MTFCA National Tour in June, 2022, every goody bag got at least 1gs stick, and some got two of them since we had a few extras. Also, there were gas stations close by in both directions from the host motel. No excuses for running out of gas!

Whatever you do, don't use Mapp gas for your acetlyene lamps! I did that once and found the Mapp gas burns much hotter than acetlyene and it cracked one of the original reflectors in my lights. Big bummer!!! Since then I use a B tank that I bought filled from Airgas. It has the correct offset early ...

Eric, I enjoy all this fact sourcing leading up to your book about the 02O race. However, with all due respect, I must mention that the date used in your post just above referring to 1909 appears to be in error and should be 1908.
