Home made electronic timer

Hello grumpy old people that think money is more important than life. Now what would be really controversial? An E-timer! So I made my own. Just to make people mad. The very worst mistake that I have made is non T related. I corrected not one but two instructors while in nuke school. I was right in both cases but still labeled as a "boat rocker". I did apologize to one of the instructors out of respect.
You should not apologize for being correct.

Wrong, the steel disk clutch is fine if you have even the slightest competency at adjusting anything.

Do you guys figure if the bulbs are 6v-24v could they work for the folks that have magneto headlights? Jim Ok i tested just one bulb with magneto headlights. Mike, that reminds me of one... My ex's cousin was working at a dealership I was at and replaced the head gasket on some sort of Mitsubishi. He put blue shop rags (the paper ones with strings inside), in the cylinders to soak up any coolant. He was pretty green. Got it all back together and hit the...

Thanks for the heads up. We just installed the new shackles on the kid's car thi as fall. We'll need to keep an eye on them.
One wrap of aluminium welding wire seems to space them out from the bushing far enough that they will not present a problem. For now.
A washer would be better.

These new fangled spring shackles wear funny

I know I should be glad that these are available but I really should have ground some of the serrated edge off. When it touches the spring or perch they tend to bite & then the shackle itself wears in places that it shouldn't. Thinking of re-making the worn parts in 8MM steel rather than the 5.5 MM ...

If it were mine, I'd drill a small indent in the lug and center punch a matching dimple in the shoe where the clutch exerts no force. And then lock-tight the shoes in place.

That happened to me, it was a stripped thread in the block, could not get the head bolt tight enough. However, the head gasket didn't blow and i didn't lose compression. It ran just fine until the next valve grind where i put a home made helicoil thing in the hole and it survives just fine. Don't sw...

The transmission washer, if the transmission fits together well without the other 2 washers, then you will not need them. The triple gear bushings. Having them stick to the pins is fairly common. They can be repaired, or replaced. Try not to remove the pins however. If the pins are left in the flywh...

timer refacing without a lathe

Nobody has a lathe, or at least one big enough to hold a timer they can rent me for just long enough to reface a worn timer. I don't think I succeeded with this setup, merely moved the problem from one area to another. How would you hold the spinning stone still in the wooden board? Maybe I need to ...

I agree to preserving what is left.
My car is made from other people's cast offs that were deemed too far gone to restore. I got it to look like a original that'd lived through many changes. People ask when I'll restore it. Never I hope. I like it as it is.

I don't know if anyone mentioned it yet but low/high pedal does need some movement in the cam or you'll have no neutral.
