Yooper Color Tour 2023

I would like to start the ball rolling on a late September Model T Fall color tour in the north western UP. This post is to see if enough interest exists to put the logistics in place. My goal would be to use as many Forest Service roads and County highways as possible, keeping off major highways. I...

Re: The Time Machine

Earning its keep……Getting lots of “thumbs up” and horn blows from the logging trucks I run into on the FS roads. Big smiles on their faces. What a great improvement in ride with 500#’s on the bed. This pick-up and drop-off will be another 50 mile round trip 2x. What a hoot!

Looks fantastic! That looks like a really fun project. The planking will look super cool. It will have a “antique aero/marine look”.

Re: The Time Machine

I was asked to drive the TT in a semi-local 4th of July parade yesterday. That round trip and another for pizza and ice cream gave me a total of nearly 85 miles yesterday. The truck performed flawlessly. I had a couple mile long slight downhill grade on Forest Highway 16(paved) that gave me a max of...

Re: The Time Machine

400 mile update….. With close to 400 miles of Forest Service roads now on the TT, here is my update. I have never driven anything as fun or satisfying as this TT! Its an instant hit anywhere I take it. After getting used to the constant efficiency dance on the spark and throttle levers, I am amazed ...

Go for it Dallas! I darn near hit a big male wolf last week. I bet that hasn't happened in a TT in a while.

Re: The Time Machine

I had our local Model T wizard make me a copy of an accessory IMCO air cleaner. It is also the carb heat. It works splendid! Ive got nearly 50 miles on the TT for shakedown runs. Hope to do a 40 miler tomorrow.

Re: The Time Machine

I finished up the stakebed using 1 1/4” white ash and have been driving the Time Machine quite a bit. I have a couple 15 mile round trips. Last evening I took a ride with my GPS and with the truck in Hi-Hi easily hit 32mph at about half throttle on a level blacktop Forest Highway. I now continue to ...

Re: TT Rearview Mirror

Thank you all for input on mirrors. I found and purchased a set of NOS mirror stalks on EBay that, after confirming some dimensions with the seller, looked like they would work. They arrive today and a quick preliminary fit-up looks like they should work perfectly. They mount on the hinge and have a...

Re: What makes the Model T so special to you?

To me, it’s about slowing my world down. I spent most of my life in a high pressure, fast paced manufacturing engineering environment. Ive bought, sold and restored tractors for over 30 years, mostly John Deere two cylinders. It was “normal” for me to jump on my 1949 John Deere R and do a 30 mile ro...

A hydronic system with a very small 6v circulating pump would be pretty easy.
