Others may disagree, but my rule of thumb is when you put your T up for the day turn the gas off and let the carb run dry. This removes the gas from the carb where it can cause the most headaches and you are then good for up to 45 days of storage with no issues. JMHO :D

IMHO. "V" nose trailers are built incorrectly from the get go most of them have a 60/40 placement of the axle's (60% of trailer forward of the axle 40% aft) making weight placement critical to avoid sway. Toy haulers are usually built closer to 75/25 or even 80/20 making the trailer less susceptible...

O.T. how did you get your sweetie to support your T addiction?

My better half and I are coming up on our 38th anniversary and are starting to plan for a 40th celebration. This got me thinking our partners put up with a lot (coming in the house dirty, smelling like oil and spending a lot of time with the mechanical mistress etc!) My wife tells everyone that when...

Hummmm? Does that mean when you get invited to a fund raising event for the Florida Theater (Speak easy night) and when you leave with every one watching, you let the motor warm up drive 200 ft and stall (Dang! forgot to turn the fuel on) ?

27 rpu named SaraJane because she sometimes acts like a redneck (see avatar)
25 touring named Andy because the headlight bar arcing over the headlights reminded my wife of Andy Rooney's eyebrows.

I got one of those that is smaller than the exhaust nut, fortunately I discovered this before the need arose. I also had the misfortune to break down on the side of town known for shootings I had observed a couple of youngsters coming toward me so I picked up that wrench as I was getting out and the...

Re: Too cold to drive?

That depends on what you are driving and where. I remember going to Circle Hot Springs from Fairbanks Ak on an Arctic Cat 440 (That's a snowmobile, and you don't get more open than that) in 1971 or 72 in February, outside air temp -22*F didn't know what wing chill was but we averaged 35 mph, Thank god...

Re: I'll take a model T on the rocks, please

Braking is applied to the transmission and under normal driving it is controllable. on a slick surface such as ice (or black ice) both rear wheels may not get equal braking when first applied causing the car to "Skew" to one side or another. If you have lined brakes for the rear wheels (emergency br...

Re: Has anyone tried doing or using this?

If you have a tub big enough to soak the part in about 1oz Dwan per 10 gallons of water and a way to keep it warm (140 deg F) and the time a 2 day soak under these conditions will remove about 95% of the hardest caked on crud.

Is there a Forum timeout?

Twice in the past 2 days I have gotten up to get "refreshments" after reading a long thread, when I got back the Forum was logged out and I had to log back on. Is there an idle timer that logs you out after a certain amount of time?

Re: Which 12 volt battery is the best for a Ford Model T

My "T" came with 12v when bought it it has a Duracell 26R from Sam's club. It has only been in the car since 2011 (feb) It seems to tolerate long periods without use and I haven't had to recharge it yet. It only has top post so I don't worry about a short out.

My Roadster had some missing "Bondo" on the turtle deck so I did my best to make it look like what a Farmer would have used in the 30's. It was supposed to be temporary but everyone liked it so I got lazy and the turtle deck is still in the attic! avit.jpg But I may change it to this one pict...

Gas price dropped to $1.91 per so we went to the beach. (they opened up WAWA, Circle K,and a RaceTrack gas stations within 1 mile of each other and all in the same month, so they started a mini gas war) Diesel for my big truck fell all the way to $2.32....Hope this keeps up
