Clutch Speed Lever Adjustment

When the engine was out, I found the clutch/speed lever was very worn and was collapsing. I found that a previous owner had done a poor job with a repair weld. The oil and dye are in the engine, but I have not had a chance to run the engine as it has been to dang cold to leave the garage door open and snows when I have a chance to pull it out onto the driveway, so it is staying in its warm stall. However, I grabbed the black light, found one oil leak, the ...

Re: Is Florida ethanol different?

A bit OT, I got into some bad ethanol free this past month. I bought it from where I usually get ethanol free for the T. I topped off my snowblower when I got home, ran fine under a light load, and like crap as soon as I got a heavy load. Dumped in Seafoam and it ran good. Ran Seafoam for that entir...

When I saw your post I thought it was mine from a week earlier with the same exact title. I bought the telescoping gauge set for measuring IDs for rebuilding our transmission. The old pins are normally .002 flat. fitting a new round bushing to a flat pin will not last very long, with out excessive wear, on bushing, and gear teeth.

Herm.
What do you mean "The old pins are normally. 002 flat"?

I have never torn into an engine before, so this is all new to me.

Wood spokes. I was surprised how easy it was to change the tire. I do have the rim tool (forgot is name) Hardest part was aligning the bolt hole. I suspect it took 20 minutes.

Re: Metal Drilling Issue

Certain high carbon steels can do that, even if they're not exactly heat treated. The heat & work of drilling can cause the steel to harden. You'll most likely have to choose another spot to drill, since the spot you tried has now been work hardened. A very sharp drill will help. Maybe try a carbid...

The transmission book states to replace the triple gear pins if they have 0.005 wear. The pins measured 0.677, 0.677, and 0.675.

What is your thought on the 0.675 pin. Replace or keep? If I replace should all 3 be replaced to have the same OD for new bushing reaming
