Re: Miss and breaking down at higher rpm
Thanks for all the great advice folks, I checked the roller and timer again today and the roller has even more play than I first thought, so much so that it can foul on its carrier. I will order one and replace it first. The timer track is actually quite good with an even surface all around. I reall...

Re: Miss and breaking down at higher rpm
Thanks for all the good advice guys, much appreciated. I will hunt down a service manual. I have gone through the carby and fuel supply which is in good order, it does feel like a spark problem as there is no backfire through the carb from leaning out. My coils have had new points fitted in the past...

Miss and breaking down at higher rpm
Hi folks, I am quite new to the Model T scene although I am experienced with old cars of other makes. I have recently got my 1914 touring car on the road and it's going great and makes me smile every time I drive it. One problem that I do have is the engine misses and loses power at high (high for a...

I had a few of the low life's contact me. I had a great time with them, told them I want what they had then strung them along for a week. My favourite tactic is find out what city they purport to live then tell them one of my relatives lives there and will bring cash around and pick up the item. Tha...

Re: What have you done with your T in December 2024
I can't stop driving my recently registered 14 touring car. Everyday I am motoring around my little country town with a smile from ear to ear. Yesterday I took my elderly father for his first ever drive in a T, he has been a mechanic since he was 18 and even owned a T once but had never driven in on...

Re: WTB Original front seat bottom upholstery
Thought that I would bring this up again. I am looking for original diamond tufted front and rear lower seat upholstery for my unrestored late '13 (1914 model) touring car. My car has later pleated style lower cushions and I would love to make it authentic. I don't care how beat up it is, anything w...

Re: What have you done with your Model T in November?
I had my first ever drive of a Model T yesterday. I have just finished rebuilding the transmission and diff on my unrestored 1914 touring car. I loved the first impression of driving it, couldn't wipe the smile off my face when I let her drop into top gear and I felt the torque pull me away at a gre...

Wonderful period photos of early cars, thanks for posting. It is true that people were very much smaller back then without a continuous over supply of food and a sedentary lifestyle.

Yes, on the driver compartment side the unused hole was covered by the patent plate but the hole can be seen from the engine bay side.

Re: Fire wall drilled for Right or left hand drive
No I wouldn’t have expected it on a U.S. built car either, Henry must have standardised the firewalls so they could go to U.S. or Canadian factories. Interestingly the hole for the mixture rod on the left side has the bored angles in the opposite orientation than the hole that is used on the right h...

Hi folks, I am currently going through all the mechanicals of my unrestored 14 touring car and have found one of the flywheel magnets has a crack. Thats a lovely original car Dave, I can see why your Dad loved it. It is a 1914 model identited by the doors that have rounded lower corners and dont go all the way down to the splash aprons. By the look of the front fenders and the lack of a speedo it was likely built in the later moths of 1913. Be...

How do these float?, I am rebuilding my transmission at the moment and was just clocking up my shaft.Les Schubert wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2024 6:37 pmI invented this because the 4th main moves around quite a bit just from normal driving stress and road conditions. With this these loads are not transmitted to the crank.

I had dealings with that fool as well, I was advertising for some original seat upholstery for my 1914 and he said he had one. Hi Friends, I need an original 1913/14 model Victor 2 brass headlight rim, even if its a bit knocked around.
My original condition touring car has one that is plated steel, must be an early reproduction?

Thanks,
Bill
