Wonderful photo. I've been there a few times with my gal.
The rear frame crossmember indicates 1913 or earlier.
Thanks for finding it.

Nice photo of a Republic at work. I would say about 1919. The top is interesting. It looks like a ridged top with an extra bow supporting the front. No rear curtain or visible straps to hold the rear bow back. Some unique fabrication. T cowl lights and a spotlight rather than headlights. Perhaps som...

It is a great photo to enjoy. I would guess a '14 model sold before the new year. The body sides have been painted a lighter color, maybe red, for the lettering to stand out and attract attention. The top shows delightful stress and shrinkage from its years. The upholstery survived better. Rear fend...

Blasius Bros. Don't get me started. As kids we would stop in and see the line of Harleys before they changed to Hondas. A friend, Bob, recalls Charlie behind the counter and how magical it all was. They let me dig through obsolete parts in the late 60s. It was a dank, lava rock basement like so many...

Great photo, Rich. I can imagine working in a cozy little shop like that. I remember a lot of Harley shops I visited in earlier days that could have gone back as far as those days. Little shops with lots of charm and an old character running it. That was before Harley mandated a modern building near...

Many of us grew up with Don Martin's characters in MAD magazine. "Mad's Maddest Artist." I don't imagine he ever had a Model T but he should have.
This was inspired by him and a photo of Dollisdad's.

I'm sure Jonnathan Maxwell could see the impact Henry Ford's race cars had on the automobile buying public. Locomobile, Stanley, Buick and others made names for themselves that way also. I don't brush anything as big as a body but do wheels and chassis parts. I like a soft brush. Camel hair watercolor ones are my favorite. Dulux and tractor enamel is my favorite. I exclude ventilation to minimize dust. These don't give off many fumes. If careful, runs can be brushed out or avoided a...

As for Herb's question "was it over land or over water?"
The rented car, over land, the ship, over water. The crew, hopefully not overboard.

Several sailing ships made their way from Spadiford Lake to the Regatta each year. If the wind was right, they could navigate up the Skigghower and Lafenheimer rivers. If not, of coarse, they would have to go the other way. Longer but not sorry. The USS Censor was one of them if not the last. uss.jp...

Big racers like Ford's 999 and the Locomobile, Old 16 are well known because of their record-breaking performances. I have been using Amsoil Synthetic R&O, AW gear and bearing oil ISO-680 (RPC) for several years now. The Warford runs quieter with it. I won't use synthetics in the engine but have it in several gear boxes and differentials.
