Pike's Peak in the Speedster - Sept, 1990

After reading about Noel Bullock and others climbing Pike's Peak, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try it in my Speedster when the 1990 VMCCA in Colorado Springs came along. It was raining but half of the 300 plus cars on tour lined up to make the climb. Joy and the kids opted to stay in the mo...

The parking lamps may have been for certain models, or the car may be a different year than my parts book. The book leaves much to question as it covers 8 different models, and the parts differ. It reminds me of the one on the Thomas Flyer NY - Paris car. I don't know what was carried inside.

Re: Just food for thought. Diesel fuel in gas tank?

A fellow we know used to drive to and from National VMCCA tours from New Mexico in his late 20's Studebaker. He always ran a bit of diesel in the gas tank. It ran well but had more soot on the rear of the car.
I've never tried it in a T.

The 1/8 scale models were a bit pricey for me but I bought many of the $1.49 and $2.00 ones.

Oh, how magical they were. That's my education into naming car parts.
Yes, mowing lawns to pay for them.
I bought dozens.

Old Photo - T in Yellowstone

I have always liked this photo my father took in 1934 I'm guessing. My first T was a '25 touring like this and we loaded it with camping gear a few times. The White bus next to it is a Model 15-45 like the one I have. Venturing to the park from Ogden, UT would have certainly been an adventure. The i...

Nice photo of a Republic at work. I would say about 1919. The top is interesting. It looks like a ridged top with an extra bow supporting the front. No rear curtain or visible straps to hold the rear bow back. Some unique fabrication. T cowl lights and a spotlight rather than headlights. Perhaps som...

It is a great photo to enjoy. I would guess a '14 model sold before the new year. The body sides have been painted a lighter color, maybe red, for the lettering to stand out and attract attention. The top shows delightful stress and shrinkage from its years. The upholstery survived better. Rear fend...

Blasius Bros. Don't get me started. As kids we would stop in and see the line of Harleys before they changed to Hondas. A friend, Bob, recalls Charlie behind the counter and how magical it all was. I don't brush anything as big as a body but do wheels and chassis parts. I like a soft brush. Camel hair watercolor ones are my favorite. Dulux and tractor enamel is my favorite. I exclude ventilation to minimize dust. These don't give off many fumes. If careful, runs can be brushed out or avoided a...

Several sailing ships made their way from Spadiford Lake to the Regatta each year. If the wind was right, they could navigate up the Skigghower and Lafenheimer rivers.
