Re: Petit jean
Thanks. I am in Lafayette, La. So it’s about 7 hours each way. I went last spring and enjoyed it but it is about a 400 dollar trip with gas, food and a room. Maybe try again next spring.

A friend sold his Model A to a local dealership for showroom display just a couple of weeks ago. Got a fair price. So it still happens.

Re: Fine Line Between Hoarding and Collecting
Some years ago I was in search of wire wheels for my T I contacted Model T Haven and made a deal for a set which he said he would take to Chickasha for me. A few days prior to the meet I contacted him to confirm and he assured me that he would have wheels at Chickasha. I drove 600 miles and found hi...

Would any but "commercial users" post in this section? Are do you only want to have certain people pay a fee and if so, what parameters do you suggest?

On the subject of Fordsons, does anyone know of a source for valves? A friend is working on a 20 model and would like to replace the badly worn valves. Thanks for any help.

Re: Unabashed plug for a hand cleaner
Good stuff. I sold it here in my store for a while but it never caught on. Maybe because most of my customers are woodworkers but I really liked it when I did tool repair or in the garage at home. It is basically borax and ground up pine cones as far as I can tell.

Kerry, yes about 45-50 psi per cylinder. Some time will free start but runs terribly and spark advance has erratic effect. For a while it ran rather poorly and worse as it warmed up. Now it is just terrible and will barely pull itself. I bought it about 3 years ago and always felt there was somethin...

Re: Another Way To Close The Tailgate
I had considered something like that and I have some like the ones you are showing but they just don't look right and also seem inadequate. I am thinking of trying to make a curved flat piece about 1/4 of a circle with a right angle bend on one end which would attach to the gate and slide through a ...

Re: Another Way To Close The Tailgate
My gate hangs down like that when it is open. Does anyone have a clever way of supporting it level with the bed? I would rather not use chains and thought of fabricating some sort of pull out or spin out support. I also toyed with a bracket of some sort which would attach to the gate and slide throu...

Re: Another Way To Close The Tailgate
It doesn't need a bead or shoulder as it will only open when both latches are pushed outward at the same time. Also doesn't require much of a slam, in fact mine closes with a firm push.

I did mine that way and it works really well. Takes a little tweaking to get it just right but it is a great option in my opinion.

Re: So tell me why I should buy a model T?
Several years ago I saw Jay Leno driving a T on TV. He said of all his many vehicles, the T was one of his favorites. I thought, now here is a true gear head whose options are virtually unlimited and he likes a T, I will have to see what this is about. Well, I bought a little coupe, then a canopy ex...

FIRST, there is no point in FOOLING around with something this old. There were no decent cars built before 1928. Forget about it.

The open express is a lot of fun to drive. I built a closed cab for the one I had and rather regretted it except on rainy days.
