Ford lived in tough times. He was wealthy and famous. He needed a Harry Bennet, and backup Bennets. We still have Harry Bennets and backup Bennets today, now commonly called bodyguards, Security, Secret Service, Air Marshals, etc. Henry made have needed security, as people do today, but nobody need...

Re: How Much Gas Should a 1927 Model T Use?

How did you check the fuel mileage? I don't see any evidence of a speedometer cable on the OP T. I have never attempted to check my 27's gas mileage, but it is sure better then that. A lot better. As has been said here, a new, tight engine will use a bit more fuel then a well broken-in engine, but o...

Great video! I loved the period-correct music.
I have driven on the left in Ireland. Driving on the left wasn't a problem, but driving clockwise around the rotaries - er - roundabouts, is just plain wrong.

That's odd - four of my wheels have the valve stem very close to the split; the fifth is at least a foot away (probably more - I didn't measure it) from the split.

They are all prone to cracking. My late style fan has 2 cracked blades. (New one on the way!)
I cant say I have ever seen one of the new blades cracked. Good to know.
I had to replace the fan on my '27 due to a cracked blade.

This is Ford-related and demonstrative of political speak. From a 1954 Ford Times Magazine: A Ford sedan was being compared to a similar Russian car in Europe. The tests were acceleration, top speed, hill climbing, fuel economy, and (as I recall) handling. The Ford easily won them all. When the resu...

I don't know whether this has been mentioned, but inflation is a form of taxation. Hi Campbell, I assume that you are looking for a YOM (Year Of Manufacture) plate. If you are going to use it on a driver, some states require that the plate be an actual, state-is...
