Re: Where would you put two new rims?
I would put the two new rims on one side of the car and the old rims on the other. The new and old rims may be a very close match, but they won't be exact. New on one side and old on the other will be less noticeable.

Re: Blockley Tire import question.
Someone mentioned $283 each for Model T tires. I actually don't think that's too bad. Vintage automobile tires are a small market and low volume. The Michelin radials on my modern car are $220 each and are made by the hundreds of thousands. I'm happy just to be able to get tires for the T. I also ha...

I would remove that accessory shock absorber before I ever drove that car (from what I see my guess is that is a ways off). It is putting loads on parts that were not designed to take them.

Of the colors that you posted, I like the Cherry Old Masters the best because it's the lightest. I have never been accused of having a great eye for colors, but if it were mine, I might even go a bit lighter. JMO and no hurt feelings if you go darker - it's your car!

John when I go on tour I fill my tank to 9 gal. My '13 has a very accurate speedometer plus I've also "backed it up" with my phone speedometer. After I'm back I stuck the tank and then do the math. ...and that is the way to do it. My point was that I don't see any evidence of a speedometer cable in...

Ford lived in tough times. He was wealthy and famous. He needed a Harry Bennet, and backup Bennets. We still have Harry Bennets and backup Bennets today, now commonly called bodyguards, Security, Secret Service, Air Marshals, etc. Henry made have needed security, as people do today, but nobody need...

How did you check the fuel mileage? I don't see any evidence of a speedometer cable on the OP T. I have never attempted to check my 27's gas mileage, but it is sure better then that. A lot better. As has been said here, a new, tight engine will use a bit more fuel then a well broken-in engine, but o...

Great video! I loved the period-correct music.
I have driven on the left in Ireland. Driving on the left wasn't a problem, but driving clockwise around the rotaries - er - roundabouts, is just plain wrong.

That's odd - four of my wheels have the valve stem very close to the split; the fifth is at least a foot away (probably more - I didn't measure it) from the split.

As to the OP - I like the first question, I know the answer to the second, and Henry probably could not answer the third due to the advances in lubricants since his death.

This is Ford-related and demonstrative of political speak. From a 1954 Ford Times Magazine: A Ford sedan was being compared to a similar Russian car in Europe. The tests were acceleration, top speed, hill climbing, fuel economy, and (as I recall) handling. The Ford easily won them all. When the resu...

Bought a 600 Amp meter to test the starter draw. I want to find out once and for all whether the very slow cranking is due to a bad starter or drag in the driveline. You know that I'm hoping for the starter.

I don't know whether this has been mentioned, but inflation is a form of taxation. The government borrows much money and it is paid off in deflated dollars so that it is paid off for a worth less than what was borrowed, meanwhile, it puts the wage earner who gets " cost of living" raises into a hig...

Hi Campbell, I assume that you are looking for a YOM (Year Of Manufacture) plate. Before you have a plate made, unless it is for display only, check with your state's Department of Motor Vehicles first. If you are going to use it on a driver, some states require that the plate be an actual, state-is...
