I am restoring a 1926 Fordor and came across the subject of body blocks which go between the body and frame. Does anyone have experience with this, photos, diagrams, details, etc.?

The guy with the shotgun could have been Alex Baldwin.

I used a cylinder hone on my big ones.

Worked perfectly.

I took many photos with my cell phone during disassembly and failed to save them. I fell in the water cell phone and all and can’t retrieve them.

There is a wood spacer strip that goes somewhere between the cowl, dash, and windshield. Does anyone know where?

Does anyone have a solution to leaky radiator hose connections? I’ve tightened the clamps but still leaks.

I bought a new hot air pipe from Lang’s for my 26 Fordor and can’t seem to make it fit. Looks like I will need to modify it to make it work. Fits “OK” with the exhaust/intake manifold clamp on #4 removed but can’t get it to fit otherwise. The hot air pipe on my 26 TT is a somewhat different design. ...

Lang’s warned me about the difficulty of fitting the rear bumper brackets to a Fordor. I’m thinking now I may buy just the bumper and make my own brackets.

I’ll probably go ahead and buy the entire front bumper kit from Lang’s.

Does anyone have experience installing front and rear bumpers on a 26=27 Fordor or Tudor using those as advertised by Lang’s or others?

I understand how the inboard (engine side) mounts to the crankcase bolts, but what about the outboard (frame) sides?

Do they rest on top of the lower frame flange or hang below?

The Model T Service manual is not clear on this point.

I just acquired a TT, or some of one, with a Ruckstell rear end. It is a typical TT worm drive otherwise.

It is possible to install the cam shaft 180 out of time when the timing marks on the crankshaft and camshaft line up correctly. I have seen some discussion on this topic but no real conclusions.

Plastic seems to have some advantage over wood in that is won’t swell and should slide in and out of coil boxes easier.

Internals should be identical to wood ...

Next question: Split rear bumper or one piece? I’ve seen photos on line of each. Original Ford colorized promotions show a one piece which I prefer, but will the spare spare tire still fit with the reproduction fenders and brackets available?

I used a cylinder hone wrapped in sandpaper to slightly enlarge the hub bore in the spokes.

Loctite is a good idea!

How much wheel wobble, or any, is normal or acceptable?

I re-spoked three wheels and all four have about 1/4” of wobble.

On another T I recently acquired I notice about the same. I haven’t checked my TT yet.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks to all who responded, especially Les who dug one out of the snow and Bob who scoured and found one. With minor mig welding and straitening the part is in place and the body is ready to prime.

After ruining a chain saw, a weed wicker, and almost an out board I don’t put ethanol in anything I don’t run almost every day. My TT, Fordor, future Speedster, 42 Ford GPW, and 46 Willys CJ2A will only see 100% gasoline. Don’t know why it cost more cause it’s cheaper to make.

Joel, I am planning a brass era speedster project in the future. I found a plastic model kit on line manufactured by ICM. Their kit number 24015.

I will use the model to plan my full size version.

Henry, the rust out extends about 3 or 4 inches up from the bottom effecting the most compound curves on the entire car.
