For many years there have been (or were) fall and spring meets at Chickasha. They were open to prewar and postwar cars and parts, with the latter predominating. I suspect Joe Ersland's prewar meet was an answer to that. I don't know the current status of those other meets.

So far they're fairly easy to spot. But the software will become more sophisticated, and eventually you won't be able to tell what's real and what's not.

Checking Lang's catalogue, I see only the tool Dan Treece posted. Preferring the other type, I made mine hinged so it comes apart to fit in my under-seat tool box. Used properly it gets a good, solid grip on all four rivets.

Has anyone experienced this problem? [/size] Everyone has experienced this problem. Put a carpet or foam pad on the floor to catch the lens when it suddenly pops loose. Try leaning in with a hip against the rim as you turn it. I'm guessing your rim tool is the squared-C type. I made one of these: h...

Re: What have you done to your Model T in August?

A few months ago, half my turn signals quit working. The left turn side worked normally, but flipping the switch to the right got a faint flicker from the indicator. I assumed something had gone haywire in the control panel, so I took it out of the car to investigate. With all the outgoing wires di...

Re: Zinc Plating - experience anyone?

Whether you call electroplating with zinc galvanizing or not, it is inferior to hot dip galvanizing. That's why I have bought cans of old roofing nails at auctions. Modern ones are thinly electroplated and turn to rust spots in a few years. In rebuilding my house I have reused hot dipped shingle na...

My only experience with galvanizing was as a customer. In 2012 I had seven Hayes rims and their hardware hot dipped at the Valmont plant in Catoosa, near Tulsa. I believe at that time the minimum charge was $235, and I could have had up to sixty rims done for that if I'd had them. A few years ago o...

Re: GPS for Model T travel?

If your car lacks a battery you can buy a small battery pack designed to run cell phones that will power it for a long time.

I carry a battery for easy starting. It's 12 volts for the tail/brake/signal lights I installed. It also charges my phone and powers the GPS device.

GPS for Model T travel?

I just wasted over an hour shopping online. I was looking for an inexpensive device with a 7" or 9" screen with two basic functions. 1 Speedometer. 2 Odometer. Yes, aftermarket oil screws. I've found a few when taking apart rear axles. Scott is correct. Years ago you could buy them new, but I don't see any in Lang's catalogue now. If they work at all I would expect them to work in the wrong direction when backing up. I think it's much more effective in ke...

Those pliers are the reason for the high price of Model T screwdrivers. When they started putting that flat end on one of the pliers handles, they quit making the screwdrivers, which makes them scarce today. I believe all the kit tools were made by various manufacturers. Herbrand was one of them.

I was thinking clevis pin from the front and rear ends of the hand brake rods. I finally found them (2546). They're ⁵⁄₁₆", but shorter than the crank ratchet pin. It's also ⁵⁄₁₆", but longer at 1⁷⁄₁₆". As Bob says, that's 3905. Now I know which drawer it goes in. :)

Thanks, all

Lang’s has lots of good used parts.

All the parts dealers do. In fact I believe Bob Bergstadt quit selling any new parts at all. If Don Lang doesn't have it, call around among the others.
