Re: How to Paint the Inside of My 1927 Coupe?

My coupe seems to be lighter than those shown but 90 years of Montana weather may have made a lot of difference. I took a couple photos of the door jams last night but the don't show the color all that well.

There is green in the trunk but also what looks like maybe blue primer??????

DO NOT put pipe dope on them. Those are called grub screws. They tighten again the edge of the hole. Allen head screws have nothing to tighten against and need a washer. If you really think you need something on them a little swipe through Ivory soap is the best thing you can use.

Re: Ultra Rare Model T Ford Brass Thing

It was put together as a mail carrier car in Lindsay, Montana in the early 40's and used during World War II. We sold it at an auction in Havre, Montana about 12-14 years ago to a collector in Bozeman; he bought it partly to keep somebody from tearing it apart to use the Sport Coupe body. It had bee...

I don't have time. Somebody would complain.Years ago I tried doing that. There was little interest and somebody who was always more than willing to tell me I didn't know what I was talking about. I spent two months putting up with a guy who refused to accept my statement it is pressure differential,...

Re: LOOKING FOR WTB GAS TANK SEDIMENT BULB OUTLET FLANGE

If you don't have to have original, they are 1/2 pipe thread. Any plumbing store has 1/2 inch pipe threaded screw plates about 3 inches in diameter.

Or find a piece of brass or copper --- which is what I would do -- 1/4 inch thick, drill and tap it 1/2 inch pipe and solder it on to the tank.

NEW OLD STOCK STROMBERG MB-1 CARBURETOR

Here is a Stromberg MB-1 side draft carb. Verical Flange. New Old Stock with the exception of replacing the screws with fillister head screws. These are very popular for overhead conversions and were supplied by Roof, Laurel and some others if you ordered a carb with the head. Ralph Ricks ran one of...

Just some carb eye candy

Matching or nearly matching set of Stromberg MB-1's, sold as original equipment on several overhead conversions in the mid to late 20's as they will bolt right to the head on several different models. Easy to adjust, trouble free and -- probably more important then than now -- easy to start. Some of...

Sounds like fun, I drove Oilfield tankers and over the road for a few years so I probably could handle the Motorhome.

Unfortunately, it looks like I will be home working on carburetors hoping to get yelled at less by getting some done.

I saw these blocks and 5 main cranks by Crower when Les stopped by with them a few years ago. They are incredible. I think the first one went in Karin's speedster. I dunno about the rest. I'd like one but the piggy bank is pretty thin this year.

Send Les money. US Funds.

MB-1s are fairly popular on Speedsters. Ralph Ricks swore by them on his Great Race car. They were stock carbs on Cleveland and several others. Simple carb with no economizer but with an accelerating well/venturi. I sell a couple a year if I have them to speedster guys. I have two on the bench right...

Free advice, take it for what you are paying for it. Ruckstell rebuild. Replace the ball bearing and the bronze plate. Those two pieces are critical to the alignment of the ring and pinion. Virtually every one of the bronze plates is dished inward -- some slightly and some a bunch and do not hold th...

Put it in the carrier and use a flap disk on an angle grinder 15 minute job tops.
Having it in the carrier keeps it from overheating and gives the arms the correct length.
