Re: Stan Howe Estate Auction #2

Jim, in the early days just after Stan’s death there was a posting on this Forum asking that exact question. The poster was working with the family. My friend had his 5 Ball off his 1910 with Stan and had also paid a considerable deposit ($500)? The carby was returned back to Australia for which he ...

Great idea that one! I’ll see if it will work on the 1910 as I’m installing brake lights very soon.

Hi Rob,
Yes, I must get myself one of those e-timers then I’ll be just like you!
Mind you, the 26 does move along nicely once she is rolling on a country road. No issue with fuel starvation.

After trying to get my 26 Roadster Pick up to perform better and lively. The Z Head was an improvement, Truefire ignition did nothing however the NH straight thru out did the standard NH. I now go up my “test hill” in high gear and accelerating where as before I was in low. Swapping the NH out for a...

Kevin, yes I understand how you feel but the most important great step forward you have done is by fitting Quality Tyres and Tubes! These will last you a long time, give great handling and no leakage! Great Investment! Well done (IMHO)

Can I ask why the bridge washer is shaped the way it is? Is there a reason why it to raises the stem base off the rim?
It must serve another purpose other than sandwiching the stem to the tube...? Would you use modern bridge washers with a new Blockley Tube?

Can I ask why the bridge washers are shaped like a “bridge” ?? Does it serve another purpose other than to squeeze the Tube to the inner part of the original style Valve? Is there a purpose for raising the Tube / Stem the height of the bridge?

We have the choice of three unleaded Petrol grades in our state. These are 92, 95 and Premium 98. Both of our “Daily drive” vehicles and 1966 Mustang recommend either 95 minimum or 98. I choose 98. Sure it’s a bit more expensive but I notice the slight increase in performance and economy. As a resul...

Re: Tire pressure drops to half in a month

The Hartford Tubes I have seen do have the Blue line plus their name in bold letters. To me, that’s a great sign if the manufacturer puts their name on it as they have confidence in their product. Blockley do exactly the same with both their Tyres and Tubes.

It looks like a “Bursting Disc” to me. These are usually made of exotic material and fitted under a Safety Valve. It’s purpose is to protect the Safety Valve from the harsh aggressive material that could corrode it. If the vessel has a over pressure situation it will blow the disc (as shown). Someti...

Steve and Scott are correct and this also applies to the Canadian sourced RHD Engines. It looks very awkward but is possible.
