Quick bolt set sold on ebay in less than 24 hours ... Gene French

Have listed these on ebay also ... this is a set of original , fully functional quick bolts at a fraction of the cost of the new reproduction bolts ...Gene French

i do have 1 set of my reproduction quick bolts remaining they were made from grade 8 bolt stock ... these are original bolts ... they are made from a softer bolt stock ...Gene French

Model A Ford connecting rod mold used to pour babbitt bearings ... bearing is poured at 1 5/16 inch diameter with approx. .03" per side excess material on side flanges ... this allows for finish machining to any reasonable undersize or to standard diameter ...price $100 + $17.10 postage in lower 48 ...

i have a set of original "quick-bolts " for sale ... these do not have any manufacturers marking on them , so the manufacturer is unknown ... i replaced missing sleeve nuts on 2 of the bolts and replaced several of the forked keepers also ... i will post photos when i re-size to fit this site ... pr...

Andy: regarding your question ...has anyone else had problems with Prus head ... i have only installed 2 prus cyl. heads ... the machined chambers are uniform and NO INTERFERANCE was experienced ...i have installed 7 Z heads ... there was interference in ALL 7 ... i believe this occured due to warpa...

John: Duncan , Ok. would be doable for me ... i think a pre-war area would be beneficial for most of us on this forum ... our fall AACA meet has become a 1950-1990 era meet ... i am 1 of a few early part vendors at that meet ... will remain an optimist and look for possibilities to continue a qualit...

Sadly this years Chickasha Swapmeet will be the last ( for now) ... the cost of operation and difficulties in coordinating all the necessary functions have become too great ... the reduced vendor attendance and increased cost have made it impractical to continue this meet ... i want to thank the Ers...

assuming the rotor is inplace , i would check to see if there is a carbon track burned thru the rotor and shorting to the distributor shaft ...Gene French

i have added 2 bench vises , a single point Mallory ignition for model A , a Wico magneto for stationary motor or tractor ... see you all there Gene French (SL4-SL6 )

Adding some more model A parts ... have a single point Mallory distributor , several model B distributors (centrifugal advance units that work great on model A ) box of stainless steel headlight buckets and rims ,a combine manifold and carburetor ,a non counterweight model B crankshaft , some model ...

Ed: we are not seeing nearly as many Chickasha posts as we did years ago ... i will be bringing my usual babbitt bearing tools , the mainbearing linebore units for models A and T Ford mainbearings , main and rod bearing molds , re-babbitted model T ballcaps , several aftermarket model t distributors...

Tim: seems that a cylindrical brush should be simple to make ... i don't know if the proper graphite materials are easily acquired , but the cost seems very high for what i would expect ... machining graphite is messy , but when done wet is very doable ... the only graphite materials i use are too h...

Hope that anyone needing Chickasha transport has been making contact with swapmeet attendees. i have 2 model T blocks to re-babbitt that i will pickup at the meet ... will save the customer transport charges 1 way ... if you need items picked up or delivered , now is the time to make arrangements .....

i will add some insight here regarding swapmeets and the high cost of shipping and difficulties in locating parts ... several years ago we would see a constant stream of wanted ads. or shipping request for the meet at Chickasha ... this is an opportunity for many hobbyist to gather, buy or trade par...

Rick: i have mentioned this before regarding freeze cracks in a non-structural area of the block ... a weeping type weld porosity filler will usually seal quite well if the crack is clean ... i have used a shop vacuum to help with the flow of the sealer ... with the head inplace and the lower water ...

Dan: i do as les states above ... i turn the hex head and chamfer a standard 3/8-24 grade 8 bolt ... i machine the head only to have an appearance typical of the original rod bolt ...the grade 8 hardware is commonly available and has physical properties well in excess of the requirements of a connec...

i have 1 ball cap with a bronze bearing liner installed ... i got this with a batch of cores and will not be re-babbitting this unit ... the bearing bore is 1.562" diameter ( standard ) ... i do not know the bearing material ... this unit had been used and was -.020" diameter when i received it ... ...

i have a Simms-Huff starter/generator unit that i am unable to identify the vehicle application ? this seems to be suited for a small engine ... or it may have been geared at a low drive ratio ? i am experienced with the much larger Northeast units that were used on the Dodge Brothers 4 cylinder car...

For sale , Model B Ford distributor ... these work great in Model A Fords and have an automatic advance curve that is correct for the Model A ... this distributor was designed specifically for Ford Model B and is excellent in the Model A ... this unit should be cleaned and re-bushed for best service...
