If you had power coating that melted or rolled up when you sanded it, sounds like it was not cured. Try a MEK rub to see it takes it off. If so, paint is not cured.
Today’s appliances are made from precoated coils. The forming is done after the steel is painted. Dan

I took a pair of 14 windshield hinges apart to clean them up and found what looks like brass plating on the screws and nuts that hold hinges together. Spring inside the hinges looks to have copper plating on it. Has anyone ever seen that? Dan

I have problems when I try to post straight from camera. When it ask you from library or camera? If I just use camera it is always rejected. If I get pictures out of library it will ask size and I use medium.

Luray Va is coming up in May. Not sure about this year, but most years the Brass in Bucks Co is held on Sunday after Luray. That is 2 pre war swap meets in the same weekend. Brass in Bucks is in Pa about 120 miles from Luray. If fact a lot of people going to Bucks stop at Luray on they way. Dan Here...

If the two rivets did not matter do you think Henry would spent the money to put them there? Either replace the rivets or the tube. Just my 2 cents worth. No lifers were made with the cupped top. That is wear. There were cups made (aftermarket) to cover that. I have found them on engines although not lately. Unless you are replacing all valve train parts you could and should time the valves. You would not have to replace anything then. And will probably get better performance than setting by feeler gage. Dan

I heard a rumor that the new bearings are only made in std size. So if You have a undersized cam you are out of luck. That is reason looking to pour cam bearings. Dan

Sales tax has always been a problem at swap meets. You MUST have a PA tax number to get a space at Hershey. You must have a State sales tax number to be a jobber with MACs or whatever they call themselves now.
