Re: Personal Challenge (Contest): How cheap can I purchase/make a Model T for?
Forgive me if I am suggesting something that others have posted and I have missed. One thought specific to your challenge is when you inadvertently buy a valuable but incorrect part (or parts) is you could resell them for a bit of a profit, then plow that profit back into the original project. I did...

I can't believe this didn't sell the first hour it was listed. Using Guy's own words there are a lot of good Ts out there but only a few great ones. This is a real deal upper echelon car that would make anyone proud. I wish I had room for it.

I just spent much of my weekend with Mark Eyre. He coached me through the significant mechanical upgrades needed on my '13 Touring. 1926 Touring-National winner-significant price reduction
1926 Ford Model T Touring There is a new price for spring, $15,500. You cannot even start a restoration of this caliber for double the price. Essentially you are buying a restoration at less than half price with a great car thrown in for free. Without a doubt, this is currently the very best restore...

Re: 26 outside mirror question
You have to replace the stud used for the lower windshield half with a longer version (maybe 3/4 inch longer). The bracket mounts counterintuitively, upside down. It is held in place with the lower windshield wing nut. I took mine off my car when I showed it for the Grand National. Sorry, but I don'...

I didn't go 300 miles but did drive the '26 Touring about 10 miles from my trailer home. I beat the rain by about an hour. While the car has been rained on plenty of times I am enjoying having it clean for a change.

Re: What did you do with your model T in June
I took the 26 Touring to the AACA Grand National in Auburn. Lots of Ts there. I followed Mark and Phil Eyre in. They were showing their 11 Commercial Runabout. This was a great show. No idea if I won anything but I'm okay either way. 20190601_154134.jpg20190601_154134.jpg You got a Repeat senior. C...

Re: So tell me why I should buy a model T?
I agree with the above and would add, try to sit in as many years and bodystyles as you can. I have long legs and wear a 13 shoe. That eliminated all of the 17-25 open cars for me, though I have friends who feel those are the most comfortable variation. So far the most comfortable T I have driven wa...

Re: AACA Grand National
Every one of the Ts shown at the Grand National won the award being sought. It was a very good day for all of the T owners in Auburn. I agree with Mark, this was a very good day overall. I too got to spend a day with my friend, a father figure, renewed some friendships and forged a couple new ones. ...

A couple more photos of the Ts at the Grand National yesterday. 41161.jpeg41161.jpeg I just looked over the results posted on the AACA website. It was a great weekend indeed for all of us showing T's or other early Fords. Every one of us received the award we were seeking. That made 10 Ts and one '...

I will need a bit of luck. This is a car that has been driven a LOT since it was last shown competitively, which was in about 2010 or 2011. The last time out we got smoked but that was a concours event. So we'll see. Maybe the rain they are predicting will come, putting the judges in an apathetic mo...

Horn trade
I am interested in trading horns with someone. Mine is in very original shape but likely is from a '14-15. I want the same type horn but with a round base. I know mine looks a bit rugged but would like another in similar shape as it would match the patina of the car. 20190529_074914.jpg 20190529_074...

Michigan allows them. You only need one but many people (including me) like to have a pair. I think the plates really enhance the appearance and authenticity of the car.

I would wager that a stock Town Car or Landaulet would be taller and a '09 Coupe might be taller yet. But, since there may be a dozen or less of all of those cars, combined, most of us commoners are safe.

It sort of was pulled out of hiding. This was a car that used to get driven and toured quite frequently. With the declining health of the previous owner it hasn't been out in a while. With about an hour of work it was drivable yesterday.

Phil and Mark Eyre heard of a 12 Roadster for sale. This is the car the found when they went to look at it. It turned out to be a 12 Torpedo Roadster. They now are up to three Torpedoes.

I drove the 13 Touring for the first time in nearly 2 years. It ran great righf until the throttle level snapped in two. This is a car that is in the middle of a full mechanical overhaul. Lots of time an money but it's worth it.
