Re: Banging noise from under the car...

My banging noise ended up being the hand crank flopping around due to the spring detaching. The noise sounded like it was under the floorboards. Luckily a forum friend suggested that I check that.

Hopefully this link works! It shows a pre-1900 Mercedes Benz. Turn signals are required in Germany. Check out the solution! Not electric, and not exactly hand signals either!! They use a “signaling disk”!

Re: .....The Battle Continues....!

Again, eBay has protection in place when you buy through them. I’m sure the clock is ticking though. Get that process going and you’ll get your $ back!

The new starter switches are not good! Find an old one that is serviceable.

Re: HELP. MODEL T NOISE

I had a rhythmic thumping noise that ended up being the hand crank. The spring came loose and the crank was banging.

Re: Visited the Model T Museum this year? Willing to share your experience?

I visited the museum with my wife, daughter (11), and son (8). History is always best when it’s alive. Seeing the versatility of the model t (tractor, saw, and even airplane applications) and the various body styles in person allowed the kids to appreciate the car that changed the world. Drove a WW2 fighter pilot on July 4

I had the honor of driving John, the Grand Marshall of the 4th of July parade in New Richmond, OH. He told me he was a replacement pilot on 7 different carriers in the pacific. He flew on one carrier unil permamant replacements for lost pilots were installed, then he would go to another carrier. He ...

Re: Homecoming in Richmond IN - June 6-7-8

Great time at the homecoming! First time bringing our 26! Got to meet Brent “the coil man”, Steve, and saw Dean’s famous car (but not him). I found a few parts and saw some nice cars. Only complaint is that it was too close to Camping World which caused us to buy a new RV! Back to Richmond later thi...

Re: 21" wooden wheel set, new tires, plus 5 split rims, spreader, carrier, and more

I have four wooden wheels off of my 1926 touring car. They have four new tires (only three match tread). They were on the car when I got it and look to be in good condition, none are loose but some have cracks. I would recommend a close inspection before driving on them. I also have five split rims ...

Re: Help with a noise

So I snuck the t out before I left for church. I think Ed nailed it! Reattached the spring on the hand crank and no noise in a short drive! Thanks MTFCA and Ed!

Re: Help with a noise

Ed,
I checked the spring and it is actually disconnected from the hand crank, doing nothing! You may be onto the problem. I’ll check after church. Thanks so much.

I forgot to mention, it sounds like it’s coming from under the floorboards. I know many sounds travel though.

Sharing the road with an Amish buggy!

My son and I took our first ride of Spring in the 26 touring today. She ran perfect! My boy got a shot of an Amish young man waving his approval!
Note: our car wasn’t upside down! Just can’t get the pic to flip! Lol
