Sorry, but a water pump on a T does not necessarily result in cooling- this is an ongoing myth...

Circulating water does not universally result in cooling the engine. That's why it's called a "pump" and not a "cooler".

Applying paint to body panels and pieces is the very last thing that is done during a restoration. The body should be assembled prior to painting to avoid what has happened in your situation.

Susanne, the answer to your question is simple. The drums were designed to have cotton applied to them- not something like Kevlar which is 5 times stronger than steel. It's not rocket science- cotton and Kevlar are 2 totally different materials. It's similar to having almond "milk" in the dairy cool...

I have never understood why folks insist on installing those needless and unsightly paper fuel filters. They are totally useless on an original fuel system. Perhaps it's a lack of understanding of what a sediment bulb is and how the fuel delivery system works on a stock T?

I recommend using the correct bolts (no washers) and wire tie them.

Are you able and prepared to set the clearance between the magnet clamps and coil ring? This is very important. Did you check crankshaft end play? Too much travel and you'll have problems.

Tom- it's wise of you to ask questions regarding wood bands but keep in mind that the drums were designed to have cotton applied against them. Will you be using 100 year old drums or new ones?

Completely agree with you Perry. The old forum was awesome. This one lacks the charm and wholesome characteristics of the old forum.

Yeah, you won't see anything regarding Model As here- after all they have nothing in common with the Model T. Completely unrelated- there was a vacuum between the end of the T and the start of the A. Totally different world when the A was introduced- it was like the T never happened. So therefore fo...
