We lived in Florida for 3 years (Tampa area) in the early 90s but never got acclimated to the horrific weather and abundant crime, so we moved back up north.

If air conditioning did not exist no one would be living in Florida. :D

Gerald- be sure to get to the bottom of this issue because OE Ford drums were not designed to be used with something unforgiving like kevlar. You could end up with damaged or destroyed drums....

Surprised that the HCCA would allow this car to be posted in the classifieds as "original" (correct me if I'm wrong) when it's quite obvious that it has been restored. Perhaps the seller is hoping someone won't know the difference?

The generator on a stock Model T, as originally designed, does not affect nor is it involved in the engine starting process. The generator's output is irrelevant to operating the starter motor.

Don't wait until the weekend to go! Tuesday or Wednesday would be best and get there early so you can park close by. If you're buying be sure to bring some kind of cart to put purchases in. Be advised that you will not be able to thoroughly pick through everything in one day. Wear comfortable shoes!...

Original Model T valves are at a 45 degree angle which means the seats get cut at 44 or 44.5 degrees. Hope this helps!

Period Split Wishbone Setup

Looking for photos or information on Model T split wishbone setups from the 1920s or 1930s. I am particularly interested in how the wishbone rod mounted to the frame. I don't really want to use a modern ball joint style mount as it won't look correct.

Ralphed nailed it. As long as it is apart- restore the magneto. Doesn't mean you have to use it but make it functional and it will add value to your car. Besides, Ts run the best on mag!

Lisa, I find it most interesting that no one on this thread has pointed out the fact that your car's brake set up does not stop or slow down your vehicle- this function belongs to your tires! Keep this fact in mind as you consider any modifications.

Lisa- if your current brake set up is locking up the rear wheels, a set of aftermarket brakes isn't going to help you. What is it that you want to accomplish?

I would advise learning how to slow down and stop a Model T in the way it was designed and drive it accordingly.

Bruce- do yourself a favor and put the shields on, you'll be glad you did.

I always get a kick out of the guys who determine what parts are or are not not needed based on the level of difficulty installing them... :)

The original Ford designed starter switch works flawlessly and the fact that millions were produced proves it. No need to be scared to use it.

If the engine is coming out a distributor is not a good fix for a non-working (assumed) magneto . Fix it right while it's apart.

Terry, keep in mind that it makes absolutely no difference how much oil is splashed by slingers because it doesn't change the capacity of the the oil funnel or a mag post oil line which is all controlled by gravity.

"Called Bergs on Monday and was told the same thing closing with no prospective buyers. They told me the biggest problem was getting supplies to make the radiators and finally gave up because of so many headaches. Covid did its number once again."

I enjoyed that very much. My Grandfather worked for Kodak's chief competitor ANSCO in Binghamton for over 40 years and held several patents for mechanical shutter timers.
