If you don’t run the generator, then it shouldn’t be a problem. I have too many other projects so I won’t be doing it.

Re: Coil rebuil capacitor fit question
I have been running coils that I installed ignition “condensers” from’60’s era design Ford cars for at least 40 years. I removed the glass to get room and never “repotted” with tar ( some RTV yes). They work great and I have had them recently tested and they test great.

Re: Death by headlight socket?
I’m confused by something here. You are running the car on mag you say. I ASSUME (dangerous word), that the lights are connected to the battery? If you are trying to run the lights on the magneto, they require a special high voltage low amperage bulb and they should really only be used when driving ...

Re: HIGH FLO ALUMINUM INTAKE?
I will expand on my experience. I have a RHD 13 touring with a ORIGINAL large volume intake and a Stromberg OF carburetor. Low head. Yes electronic ignition! The car pulls well at low speeds and climbs hills well and runs nicely at 40 mph As I don’t have a generator I can’t comment on that situation...

Re: Need blker. Distributor
The “traditional” approach to timing a automatic advance distributor is teeing a vacuum gauge into the system and adjusting the timing for maximum vacuum at idle

For the shaft and bearings I bought what is referred to as a “water pump shaft “

Re: True Fire question
I’ve been running a Trufire in my 13 for more than 20 years. I charge a 12 volt motorcycle battery from the mag.
As with any ignition, good connections are important.

Re: help with jerking while driving
Couple of thoughts;
1.If a stock rear axle could it be a babbit thrust washer that has died.
2. I assume it’s not front end shudder caused by clearance/ front end alignment issues

Another consideration is if you can find some good (NOS) cast iron pistons is to sleeve the block. Just a thought

Here is a version I have done. The fan is 13” diameter so will just fit behind a brass radiator

Re: A hill too steep
A advantage of backing UP a steep hill is that the engine will be oiled better when it’s working hard. Obviously this only works when on back country roads. I grew up where we had a creek crossing that was a challenge!

Re: WOSP Starter Wiring
I guess I’m surprised that the steering column isn’t interfering with the transmission pedals if you have it that low. Also why keep the 6 volt. The stock T generator will easily charge a 12 volt battery (just cut the amps back)
Just some thoughts.

I have made a “polyvee” pulley for the fan and with one for the water pump I think you can drive it all in one “loop”!!

Re: Steering wheel nut thread spec
Thank you. I was guessing that it was 16 tpi. I can solve it now. Probably just rethread it with the lathe (or make a new one)

Steering wheel nut thread spec
Got fooled!! I thought the steering wheel nut was 5/8”unf. So I bought a 5/8” fine acorn nut locally. It does NOT fit. The thread pitch is different (not 18 tpi). Does anyone know what the thread is? Trying to push my project along!

Re: Too many accessories, not enough room!
A further thought is that the water pump requires very little energy so I think that one belt could drive it all.

Re: Straight axle hubs
I suppose if someone is motivated enough I have the casting patterns that I used to make wire wheel hubs. The patterns could be modified and new correct castings could be made. A person would need some good pictures and dimensions (which I don’t have)

Kevlar is fine (probably excellent) for the brake. They have destroyed plenty of reverse drums though. My preference would be Kevlar on the brake and the other version on the brake and low.
