Well,,,,, I used a water based bitumen sealant (like the one used to seal ponds) over washed dried canvas on the roof of my TT.

Repels water well. Nearly gassed me in the garage when putting it on :-(

Does not last forever and has re-coat about 12 years.

Works for me, so I guess it worked!

I have a 1915 Touring but everything has been modified with Grease Fittings. I am about to get a stock 24 Coupe and wanted to see if anyone can attach instructions on lubricating the car. Do not put lubricant on the treads of the wheels, because then it will get on the track and on the locomotive wheels too. You can try lubricating the axle bearing points, but a locomotive should be able to pull cars without traction tires. Check to make sure all the wheels on your cars are free-rolling.

I've been thinking, and that can be dangerous. Is it possible to use a 6v coil and capacitor per cylinder and use a comutator to collapse the circuit to fire the secondary winding? Just ruminating, i know having original coils rebuilt would be better for authenticity, but I am currently running a distributor...so.

Well the good friend of mine that helped me get started into Model T's back in the early 90's had this short dog truck for years.I have always wanted it but he would never price it to me. Even right before he died, I tried to get it and he didn't really want to get rid of it.
Well he was taken to the hospital and couldn't come home and later died...

I can bump the rods back and forth with brass punch and hammer but they won't budge with just the shifter lever.

My brother has 52+ years' experience with soldering, Radiator service, as our father before us, the only soldering iron jobs would be on galvanized sheeting like fuel tanks. To get the heat in and a good flow a torch is used. This photo was when we pulled apart an axle housing, bead blasted, tinned and re-rivet, sealed with solder.

Moore was possibly the 3rd most popular aux. trans after Ruckstell and Warford. Advantage over Ruckstell is that the Moore has a neutral (so you can have the T towed a long distance without fear) plus if you have an early rear end...

I'm sorting some parts, and need an identification. The #1 bowl fits a Holley NH center drain body. Its OD is 2⅞ . #2, also 2⅞ , fits the NH side drain body. Bowl #3 is a hair wider, at 2²⁹⁄₃₂ OD. Note the bigger center hole. It fits the Kingston L-4. Bowl #4 has me up a row of stumps. Its OD is 3⅛ , and doesn't fit any carb...

Here’s a set of 4 TT shoes that have been ultrasonic cleaned in hot solvent to get as much oil as possible out of the linings. The linings are decent and the shoes are all in good solid condition. If you have much experience with TT’s you know that rear brake shoes are often found broken and no reproductions are available. $300 takes the set....

My 26 touring has been losing juice intermittently from the magneto. Sometimes it runs great on the mag and sometimes there is nothing. I am planning on taking the contact out and cleaning it well tomorrow. I reckon that I will also check the wire for any bare spots while I am at it. This carburetor came from an estate collection of T parts so I have no knowledge of its condition. From what I can tell I think it’s a 1915 style. Has the December 1914 date on the cover plate. The throttle shaft is pretty loose in the bore in the body. The body could stand to have a bushing installed. Otherwise looks pretty complete.

Our 1913 Marmon 48B Speedster. 145 wheelbase 9.3 Liters. Ground thumper. Same engine that propelled the Marmon Wasp to win the first indanapolis 500!

Our 1927 Speedster Model T. I already had the Marmon and saw the Model t, no history on it, but someone really loved it. Came with a wonderful trailer made for it.

My '14 T has a very minor fuel tank leak in the area where the sediment bowl screws in and I'm going to attempt a soldering repair. Here is a photo to two examples I have of early eyelets. They are both brass and are early. How early, I don't know. One is 1 1/4 across, and the other is 1/1/8 across. I'm pretty sure the longer one is earlier than the other, but when?

Im new to T’s, working on my 27’ to get it in running order. Seems the thrust load on the crankshaft and the brass bearing in the transmission would be hard on them if kept in neutral for extended times. Any thoughts?

Im just thinking I’m sure to have allot of idle time playing with the car initially.

Current status: Shifter broke where someone had previously welded the casting down where it attaches to the transmission. Easy enough fix, just need to order a new shifter.

In the meantime, the axle is in low and we've been graced with a few sunny days following more arctic-like weather. I'd like to drive the car and not be in low axle gear all...

First step would be to remove the shift lock from the axle. Dig into that as it is probably where the issue lies......
If the lever does not flip over then it must be jammed, possibly a broken spring.

The swivel drives noted in the specifications are just the normal swivels used during the period. Some are left hand drives and some are right hand drives. The ratios go from 2.5:1 to 6:1 based upon the tach rpms. I have not seen a standard tach drive mount as it would depend where the drive would be mounted. Russ Furstnow

The firewall that came with my stripped chassis is a reproduction and I am looking to buy an original firewall. I have no idea what these 2 holes are for on the passenger side. Can anyone tell me? 1925 Roadster.

The rust makes it difficult to identify. Does that firewall have four holes for the patent plate or two? Two is a 1925. Late 1925 firewalls have no bell crank for the carburetor, but the two holes for it are still there.

Motor seems to be missing and running rough. Number 1 and 2 plugs are carboned up with a little clean spot on tip of spark plug. Numbers 3 and 4 are super clean.
Is it a timer problem or coils or something else?
no trouble starting the car. Just does not sound correct.

There were no white tires available when I was restoring my 1914 Touring in 2020-2021 so I put black tires on it. When I saw the recent posting by Model T Ron it reminded me how much I like white tires even though they will not last as long as the black tires. These are stud buckles to adjust the length of the top strap to either radiator base or windshield on early Model Ts, early tops were made up with this style fitting. They are New Old Stock and sold as a pair ( one for each strap). They are made of iron and painted with black Japan enamel. $35 pair, domestic postage $10.

Ever since I started driving my 15 Touring with White Tires I get mobbed with people wheeling cell phones asking to take photos. It was flattering at first as I felt like a One Man Car Show but its starting to get out of hand......went to the Grocery store today and one guy turned into about 20 people and then a guy with a 47 ford pickup showed up...

Finally it seems the copper head gasket supply is back to normal. We got our last shipment in this week and it feels great to not have those out anymore. It seems like all the production issues have been resolved.

I’ve read that the T ignition switch rebuild kits were scarce.
If a switch's problem is a warped backing plate, which it often is, that's usually an easy fix. I didn't know that until I opened up a switch and saw what was the matter with it.
