Hi all,
I just took off the hogshead to change my bands. One of the mag coils has no covering on it. It's the one by the starter hole. Is there a way to cover it up with something like RTV, or liquid rubber? Thanks.

Good day everyone
I got my first model T running two days ago. It’s a 1911 with an original coil box. When I turn the key from battery to mag I get a spark plug type shock. Is that normal?

Sitting here starting the process of measuring 8 bearings & checking for taper using 3 different points. I decide to procrastinate and started thinking there has to be a better way. Is there? Love to hear your best practice? I’ve gone as far as using a bar at standard 1.062 to see the height of the rollers above the cage.

I recently put another enclosed car hauler trailer into use.
Instead of a 12K Harbor Freight winch
I thought I would try something different.
I am very pleased with this winch.
The gearing is low which means the line speed is slow
which is perfect for loading & unloading.
There is 50 feet of synthetic rope
which is enough for a 24 foot trailer....

How would you fix this? Inside lip of front cross member bent slightly. Without removing it. I am not set up to do that now or ever. Would you hammer it hot? Cold? Or leave it alone?

Had an interesting question recently. We know Ames made bodies for Model Ts, but did they ever actually build and market their own complete car using a Model T Chassis?

I need a couple of commutator control rod swivels - P/N 3534S. Chaffins doesn't make them anymore so none of the vendors (that I contacted) are oit of them as well. If no one has some new units, I would take good used ones, just advise what you have, how much and how you want to get paid.

This Frontenac exhaust manifold had been repaired (at least) once before and the flanges were so thin, spacers were needed for the manifold to clear the hogshead. There is no marking on the head, but the combustion chamber measurement indicates it is a Model T....

In trying to start my 26 Tourer with 23 engine I rebuilt the Holley NH and used the viton tipped needle/float valve that was supplied with the rebuild kit. It wouldn't start no matter what. Ran down the battery. Finally today took the carb off and saw that the new (viton tipped) needle was stuck. I had the same issue with another Holley NH...

Most of the steps in assembling a carburetor range from easy to super-easy. But I have always found lining up the holes in the throttle shaft and plate another story. You can see by the pliers marks on this plate that I've been struggling with it.

I have quite a number of old ( 1950's and 60'S ) spark plugs in original packaging and
in most cases original boxes. They are mostly Champion and AC.
While the boxes and plugs are marked with numbers and letters I would like to know their

I have noticed an odd situation with rear spring for my 1927 coupe. The end of second leaf on the right side is not in contact with the bottom leaf. The attached photo show the situation.

While not shown in the photos, there is a slight wear pattern on top of the bottom spring below the end of the second leaf.

Is this problem??

Came across one too many Low heads than I need. This one came off a running car according to the fella I got it from originally. Its marked 1915 in pen on one end which is the year of car he had. So, its full of carbon and grime as seen. I did not see any freeze cracks in it, and it looks very nice. Just surplus to my needs now.

Have for sale a working Generator. It works on battery as seen in the blurry gear photo (tested on my old lawn mower battery). I assume then that it would work in a generating capacity as well? I dont know too much about Model T coils but from what I understand when checking a coil and you find the primary or secondary windings are damaged that the coil is not rebuildable.
I noticed that Snyders and Langs and maybe others sell the secondary and primary windings. Does this mean I can use these to rebuild those non-rebuildable coils ?...
