My old buddy that worked at a Harley shop back in the 60's told me they used Windex for assisting in removing old tires - break the bead loose & spray away.

Thank you for your thoughts Keith and others. Craeg's carers brought him to our home for a day visit today, and he was able to see the display stand. I read him some of your comments from the forum and he was quite chuffed.

There is another with mainly T parts. I need a stand for it too. I am thinking this one will look about right on an axle...

The jam nut is only needed to stop the threads on the rod and in the linkage from working . The rods cannot turn, nor can the linkage on the end. If you are about to lose one, it was never threaded on deep enough, or the rod has been loose enough that the wear has allowed the thread to jump a few turns. Stewart speedo, 1909-10 tie rod end, valve cover, body brackets, rear muffler half, 11-4 tail pipe, manifold clamps, tail light bracket, hood hooks, front perches and speedo gear are all sold.

I have one as well. Valve grinder, cylindrical grinder, Tool grinder. I think these were the precursor to the line of Kwik Way valve grinders that use three balls in the chuck that holds the valve stem. Kwik Way used the same basic design for their piston grinder and a small cylindrical grinder in later years.

Best to post a picture of them since there were multiple versions. Are these original AC's or repro versions for example. some used rod others cables

Can you measure the resistance on side prongs?
I bought couple of coils on ebay and they show open circuit, what means bad wires.
I can replace condenser, but not the coil.

It was a brand new engine 4-5 years ago, but I have driven it from Milwaukee to Detroit twice, so it has gotten a work out.

For some reason, I think the 1915/16 Ts look the best with wires.

I found it Ian. Cast into the underside is TT 1924-B With the Ford script below and an A in a circle, most likely the maker's mark. It has only one hole, for the advance/retard rod, so will be for a generator equipped vehicle. Au$20 plus whatever the postage is.

It was described as being a Californian top. I think the term Californian is now a more generic name for a type of type that turns a touring into more like a sedan with a soiid top, possibly with many different manufacturers of the same concept.

I have a 1916 Touring, great little car, they are not as rare as some other brands from the time so parts are not impossible to find. From 17 on to the early 20’s the rear ends are notorious for poor metals and gear disintegration. If you can get the serial number, originally located on the base of the front passenger seat facing the door, you...

When I stain woodwork, I use water based stains from Constantines. Much more depth, making the grain appear 3D. Much easier to adjust the color. To get it darker, put on more stain.. to get it lighter, wipe with water. Let dry brush on mineral spirits to see what it will look like, varnished.

The cowl is riveted in that area but I don’t recall how. I know it’s riveted to a metal bracket that is attached to the top drivers side false door wood. I cannot remember on the passenger side.

Yes! Exactly. If it isn't, the sleeve will wear a groove in the axle.

One thing often overlooked when removing magnets is keeping the triple gear pins in place. Magnets keep the pins from backing out. Now I personally have not had that happen, I have seen the results.
When ever I remove magnets for someone, I require installation on a retaining ring.

The issue is that there are at least two different makers of replacement pins, and BOTH are serviceable, one being slightly more pure in roundness than the other.

That said, let's stop for a moment and reflect. The original Ford design called for a 0.002 -0.003 interference fit between the raised pin area and the flywheel. So..yeah a purist...

The beach here is just a stones throw from the Florida Institute of Technology so the scenery can be mixed. Once in a while I take the T down to the beach and the ladies love it, Iv had to tell them to use a little judgment as the seats can get very hot against the missing insulation. Before you make any changes, count and record the number of “clicks” each jet is from seated. This way you can put it back if you make things worse.

Disconnect the rods & check your clutch linkage settings. The brake lever must stay all the way forward when driving or you risk burning/slipping the clutch. The rods act as too long. Since you added aftermarket brake shoes, it could be the lining is too thick not allowing enough cam lever free play.

I had the same screws on my 1927 coupe as shown in the two photos. You can see the remains of the material that it held which was a vertical strip along the door opening. I will take a pic of the new strip I installed the next time I am at the garage.

I have a Sure Mike, too Joe. I don't think he wants a Sure Break.

I have had a Sure Mike in my touring 50 years. Just have to find a good one.

My father has these available. He purchased them from Fenstermacher Automobile Supply here in Minneapolis about 70 years ago. Also shown is a clipping from the Fenstermacher catalog. I believe you can take the six pieces shown and group them in various combinations.

If you are interested, I'll take measurements and ask how much he wants for...
