I am working on installing new condensers I purchased from Langs. I am working on 4 screw brass top coils, 6 screw brass top coils and 4 screw copper top coils. Look at the attached diagram and you will see that I have recorded the ohms taken from point A to point B along with my readings recorded on the left. These were taken with my 40 year old...

As a result of Craig's recent thread ( ) we measured the secondary resistance of 25 'standard' coils today. There were more coils, but they appeared to have open-circuit windings (note that doesn't necessarily mean they won't produce a spark!).

A friend called and said he got a set of tires with some stuff and wanted to know what they fit. I went over to have a look. I came home with a new set of Goodyear tires for my RPU which I needed.
They say made in Canada on them. No dryrot, or cracks. Rubber is soft and plyable as new tires should be. Very happy to spend his $150 asking price for...

This is a nice solid set of wire wheels with Coker white wall tires. 30 x 3-1/2 Tires have never been run. No bent, loose, or missing spokes. There is some pitting on the rims and some flaking paint. Overall a nice set of buffalo wire wheels.

I think I am done with brass grease cups. I will use steel now. The grease gun would not come off the zerk fitting inside the cup and I ended up breaking off the upper portion of the cup (drive shaft bushing)'
What is the easiest way to get the remainder of the cup out of the torque tube? With an easy out? This is the small grease cup. Thank you.

Checking a 17 engine and I found wear in the piston arm babbitts at the edges. Enough that I think I should replace them. The three pictures are the crank under those arms. You will see some wear.

My question is: I want to buy piston arms that are already babbited from a shop and install those and new pistons/rings and go on my merry way....

I have not seen a fitting like this. Is there an advantage to these over standard Zerk fittings? Does anyone know if a standard Zerk fitting could replace this? I’d like to not have to buy an adapter for my grease gun.

Well, after 8 years of an amateur restoration it was time to start the car. It started easily and ran well, however, I didn't seem to have a neutral. One rear wheel was jacked up and was spinning very fast. Car ran for about 5 minutes than was shut off, to look into transmission adjustments. I didn't get around to it till a couple of days later....

Wanted: Budd T Ford left and right rear hubs in usable or restorable condition, the hub caps are not needed but will purchase for spares. The outer end of the hub which is threaded inside is 1-23/32 or 1.718 on the outside diameter
and 1.275 or 7mm on the inside diameter. The OD of the hub cap threads is 1-11/32 or 1.344.

Today I'm struggling with the radiator mounts. I'm trying to find some cross section diagram or photos of how the radiator stud mount, springs, cups, radiator shell, hood shelf wood blocks, hood shelf and fenders all stack together in a 1922 (this one is a Touring) Any and all help is greatly appreciated

I was changing the bearing on my Prius last week and they used these cotter pin looking things on the castle nuts and I thought they would be great to use on my 1927 Touring until I get the bugs worked out after rebuilding everything on this car, I cant find them because I cant figure out what there called, anybody know?

Here’s the back of the body frame and the top of the rear springs. Ignore the square head placeholder in there just to index things together. I have to stick a pickup bed on top of this as well, what size are these bolts? 7/16”? 3/8”?

I used a string to measure the distance around the fan hub (ball bearing hub) and crankshaft pulley (original pulley). It measured 32 inches, so I ordered the 32 inch endless belt,1926-27 show in the supplier's catalog. I could not get it on, so I ordered the 33 1/8 belt. It touches the New Day Timer, so it is too long.

How do I solve this...

So I've watched the videos and see that a large set of Channel Locks will work for the task. What I haven's seen is the actual crimping done. Looking at the channel I can see where one side has a sharp edge and the other is rounded. Don't know if this is happening to anyone else, but recently when sending to or replying to those with gmail addresses I get a response that my email was rejected. Sometimes resending works sometimes not. The rejection messege says something about going to google and adding some security stuff to my origin email (not gmail my own corporate domain)...

I was impressed by the 1906 Compound car at Harrah's many years ago. It's engine operated one of its cylinders from the force produced by exhaust gases from the two explosive cylinders. The result was a reduction in noise and saving power . That amazed and amused me.

A while back I stumbled upon this old postcard of a street in our town with a Model T parked on the side of the road.

I had to wait for just the right time when there were no cars in the way so I could park my Model T in the same spot to try and duplicate the picture. It’s neat to see what has changed and what things stayed the same....
