The cork gasket from the vendors leaks too much. It is destroying the paint on my tank.
If there is a neoprene one out there I am willing to try it.

Jerry, I have tried an o ring and I am not impressed. I do not think there is enough surface area with an o-ring to seal well. One person suggested an x section o ring. Might work.

Terry, that sounds like a good idea. Wonder what kind of silicone is the best for fuel?

The answer is these two have useful tips. They need to be aware of going downhill with retarded spark and not using the parking brake to slow down as much, disconnecting the engine losing the transmission brake.

Propane doesn't mix with water, but is heavier then air. The main issue with escaping Propane is that it will flow downhill along the ground. If it finds an ignition source before it dissipates to the level where it is no longer flammable, things can get ugly fast.

5/8 for all the other letters would be pretty small (just a wee bit bigger than 1/2 ), you sure you don't mean something a bit bigger, like say 3/4 for those letters. On the 17 and later T's, the hood sits on the wooden fire wall firewall, if you have the brackets on the frame with the correct offset. Any bodywork added bolts to the back of the firewall.

Every time while driving my grease cap on the fan hub untwists and falls off. No matter how tight I twist it on it is missing after a tour. How can I keep it on ?

If you look @ an original grease cup you will notice a crimped in place leather washer. That leather washer puts enough tension on the cap & keeps the oil from oozing out. From rot , sand /chemical cleaning or wire wheel cleaning will make that leather washer ineffective.

If you have current FL title in your name, and want to swap motors, you can download a simple self-certified DMV form, note the title # and current motor # and then list new motor # of engine to be installed. Pay fee for new title, and your new title will have the new motor listed. Works for any vehicle prior to 1945.

I have a new one to me, my number one coil
Keeps shorting out and going dead. It’s on my 1912 that has rebuilt coils. The coil will work for about 20 minutes like clock work and then stop working. It is isolated to number one cylinder and it is making me crazy.

Try putting a good coil in that position and slowly turn the crank over by hand with the ignition on battery. Listen close to see if the coil is buzzing continuously and causing the coil to fail.

If it is buzzing continuously, you could have a short to ground in your commutator wiring or a short to ground in the timer itself.

Got a question on the 1911 Engine Block....are the Intake and Exhaust ports on the side of the block threaded for some sort of insert between the manifold and the block?

I did upholstery on collector cars for 30 years. I could never understand people doing incorrect materials or patterns. Someone with a CCCA classic would inquire about doing vinyl instead of leather. Yes, they could save a thousand or so dollars by doing vinyl, but when the time came to sell their car the car would be worth about $ 7000 less...

I've visited the shop, and they are not interested in helping to find the correct material. Steve Coniff and I had the very closest material made and is now available from Classtique.

Most folks look at Langs, Snyders, and other vendors websites and peruse the products they offer without much thought of what went into creating all those...

Brand new valves, modern type, from Lang's Old Car Parts (part # 3052M). Bought them for a project but ended up selling the project. All 8 valves still sealed in plastic. Includes 8 spring seat keepers (2 pieces each), still unopened in the bags (part # 3057M).

Valve 3052M from Langs has on oversize head which requires a special valve seat. The stem is also .030 oversize. Make sure the part number is correct.

Latest project finished, started with repro brass ship's clock housings and transplanted the guts out of a 60 MPH GPS speedo, made matching faces on the computer and voila - expensive(?) looking gauges. Good enough for me.
