Sorry guys, but the above answers to a newcommer what the Black Bible is was quite internal and not very helpful.

I believe the one on the right with four mounting holes is an early one. I have one like it, which is also drilled for three screw mounting.

Absolutely the one best performance improvement product available. The only drawback is you have to create your own Ford script if you want to fool anyone. i used JBweld and an exacto knife to add the script and made in Canada to mine.

Kevlar bands should only be adjusted up just till they work as they should. They do not need any tightening just because you can. Last time I did this, they dragged until i backed them off again.

I remember being your age and buying old cars. I also recommend joining your local Model T club before purchasing your first T. You will save money in the long run by buying a running car as opposed to a Fix R Upper.

With no rear doors I would think of this as a tourabout.

Those cut off rods are for a late 1926-27 car and have the fixed collar. They would have to be welded to the old rods at exactly the correct length. I am sure that you could turn the collar off , weld threads up and rethread the entire length to use the two nuts like the stock 1925 rods using you stock 1925 rods with bad ends cut off and replaced...

I haven't seen that idea before, but it should allow lowering the car by dearching of the spring. If you did that with a standard perch the suspension geometry would screwed up.

The instruction book has a lot less information than the Ford Manual. The instruction book pretty much just tells you how things work, the Ford Manual goes into a lot more detail with question and answers to basic running the car questions.

I asked what year to find out about the transmission. Before 1926 all three drums are the same width. If you can't find just a single lining, a full set of three will leave you with two extras.

Keith, the second diagram you posted appears to show a solenoid type common in aircraft “master” relays, and sometimes starter solenoids. One side of the coil is is internally connected to the battery side of the main contact, and the other side of the coil goes to a simple on-off switch in the case of a “master” solenoid, or a momentary push...

Since you have already found the problem, this will not apply in your case. But in case someone else might have a similar problem, I can think of something which could cause this problem. If the parking brake rods are too long, the brake handle will pull the rods forward till the clevis hits the hogs head. . This will prevent the clutch engagement...

Okay. If I recall, the NRS plates are 5 .

Steering play is almost always a cumulative thing. Add up the wear in the tie rod ends, the draglink ends, the lower steering shaft bushing, the gearbox/column tube joint, and the gears and suddenly, a lot of small wear items become excessive steering play.

Allan has the simplest repair idea that works. I have a 24 Coupe that has the zinc/aluminum sill plates and using the method that Allan spoke about is the best way for cracks in this application. It will last as long you own and drive your car and beyond.

The a-oogha sound is still associated with Model Ts by many, as is the rumble seat. As far as I know, no T was ever factory equipped with either. The electric Klaxon was probably not compatible with pre-1919 Ts with magneto only AC power.

Many years ago, one of our club members had the same problem.

Removing the gas tank as a last resort to see what would shake out, a small quarter sized brass top from some product came out.

How the part got off the container and still remain completely new and unbent to get in the gas tank was another mystery that was never solved, but it would...

Then too, you can sometimes find them at a farm show, as a lot of old tractors used magnetos.

I recommend filling oil filter completely, disconnect oil lines , outputs on pump, and fill with an oil can and turn engine by starter. Works everytime.

Your 1909 round tank with riveted brackets likely hard to replicate. Don't know if this builder of the later round tanks and oval tanks could help.

The inlet and outlet maybe could be used as the later types used, but may not be exact as the original. You could call the builder and ask, he may help if you supply the original tank as pattern....

As posted, use bolts, castle nuts and cotter nut to bolt end. The bolts pass into the cap but will thread into the drag link. The nut and cotter keeps bolts in place.

In a stock T ignition system, running on mag, depending on the node, the coil is being fired with either a positive OR negative charge. AC current is in play. Running on Battery, it depends on how the coil is wired internally. I am told ford & kw coils are wired differently.
If you really cared, you could match your power & coil for optimum spark...
